I did some baking. These are the scones from blogger Marilyn Miller's teatime cookbook.
I usually make her stunning cream scones but I had buttermilk, not cream. And guess what -- she had a recipe using that too. They were delicious.
We also enjoyed some delicious Sweet Potato Hash. I love this -- just an easy saute with onions and garlic, sausage, herbs and a poached egg on top.
I've been trying not to buy things that don't have purpose, just things like food, cat food, a birthday gift, and a surprise package for Rick that is yet to arrive. But I did break down and order these two little gems from Vintage by Crystal. Check out the detail. They really do a lovely job with these.
And they looked perfect with another piece from Crystal as well. Now I have quite a selection for each holiday!
We had a Zoom gathering with some people with whom I once I worked. All but one of us have known each other for more about 40 years.
Rick and I decorated eggs on Good Friday, as is our tradition. They look pretty good!
Then we did show and tell with our friends Mark and Jan, with whom we usually color eggs.
So, on Easter, I trotted down to Rick's, dressed in my Easter bonnet (well, I was planning to but it was blowing off, so I left it at home. This was my Sunday mask till the rubberband broke and I was back to a paper one.) The hat was my mom's wedding (or at least engagement photo) hat, so it's kind of special.
Rick's basket left much to be desired this year. But I did make some molded chocolate for him. (Unfortunately the bunny broke in pieces as I got it out of the mold. But then, you always eat the bunny ears first anyway, so I gave him the pieces.
He was more than satisfied!
Easter Sunday was cloudy with rain due. But it didn't stop us from having a cute table, courtesy of the sugar eggs Rick's mom sent.
And, we had a terrific breakfast! Rick made challah bread.
This beautiful loaf made a fabulous French toast.
We enjoyed online church and then facetime with the kids. Later, dinner. Our Instacart order, due for over a week, hadn't yet arrived (In fact, they backed up delivery for a week, which is problematic, but we do have food; it's just frustrating!). We didn't starve! There was pork roast, deviled eggs, potatoes and corn. And dessert, cupcakes from my massage therapist Sarah, was worth the wait!
I did get out my egg tree, finally, or one of them.
I didn't put everything on it, but it felt right to have it up again. I know Mom would have liked that.
Rick and I took a walk to the Ditch and we enjoyed a chaotic facetime with Greg, Kevin, Molly and the toddlers. (Carson found Lizzie the highlight of that event!). I had Rick hunt for eggs in the yard. It was a respectable haul -- five dollars, M&Ms, almonds, bay leaves, rubber bands and refrigerator magnets. (You go with what you've got!)
All in all, a jolly good week. And now, onward, as lockdown continues. I leave you with the sweetest face I know.
She's whipped, too!

You had lots of interesting activities and photos but as soon as I saw Lamb Chop, I lost it. Lamb Chop always makes me feel like a child - a happy child. Thank you!
All this food is making me hungry. Yum.
So glad you had a nice Easter Jeanie, I love your new figurines!
Jenna
It looks like you had a wonderful Easter! We have had those big family Facetimes and they crack me up, with all of the little kids between us we can't hear a word anyone is saying.
I am sorry to hear your grocery order was delayed a week!! My mom's was delayed two days, and I am crossing my fingers she gets most of it. If not I have enough stuff here I can take to her - plus I can always send out my husband, which I don't like doing but if necessary he can mask and glove up and go to the store.
I am trying not to just shop either. I feel like the delivery drivers are already overburdened they don't need to deliver packages that are just because I wanted a new whatever or something. I stick to the essentials, like you said, although I did order craft supplies for Wyatt, and some gifts for his Easter.
Stay safe Jeannie!
Hello Jeanie, what a lovely Easter. The food looks wonderful. How I miss Lambchop...lol
Our Easter was very quiet with leftovers. Have a wonderful week.
SOOO many yummies on this post! Love all your Easter decorations, especially your own eggs & chocolate molds. I hope your food order comes in soon!
Beautiful Pictures :) Your Easter looks like it was good :) Better then mine as I had a migraine, try to go out to Chipotle for take out just to find out they were close :) LOL
Hugs
The sugar eggs are lovely. Haven't seen them in many years.
Did I tell you I found a Lambchop for my sister? I mailed it off last week. She is going to love it!
Sounds like you had a fun-filled time over Easter, that's good. But more decorations Jeanie....You could fill a shop or two! The food looks good, lucky I just had supper or I would be getting antsy! Have a nice day, hugs, Valerie
I loved seeing your collection of bunnies and daffodils and sweetly colored eggs. Looks to me like you found a way to treat your friends and family with generosity and grace -- happy Easter, friend!
Okay, that white lamb reminds me of a famous hand puppet that used to be on local TV years ago but I can't remember her/his name. It's going to bug me all day.
Lovely photos of lovely things, as usual. Your scones---one of the few things I actually bake---look really good. I use a scone pan for triangle shaped goodies. I need to try your way sometime.
Every photo in this post is just wonderful! The best is your Easter bonnet.

Hello, Jeanie,
Sounds like you and Rick had a great Easter! I love your new figurines, they are so pretty. The meal, chocolate and your scones all look delicious. Take care! Enjoy your day, have a great new week!
Really wonderful share. Looks like fun had by all. Love the pink mask and the zoom-friendly holiday.
ah, what lovely traditions!... I skipped most of ours this year due to social distancing, but I wish I hadn't.
Your food looks delicious, especially the scones! I've never made scones, but we have some buttermilk that needs to be used up, so I'm going to look for a recipe.
You put together a better Easter basket during lockdown than I would manage during normal times. I'm impressed!
Lizzie is adorable. <3
What yummy food. No wonder your kitty was yawning. LOL Janice
I'm so glad you and Rick had a lovely Easter, Jeanie. You have darling decorations. I adore your new pieces. It's wonderful to connect with friends and family during this crisis . Seeing their faces and expressions mean the world to me. I'm so happy you had a wonderful time in spite of it all.
It looks like a very nice holiday even with all the changes this year brings. Lots of yummy food! And I do like that Easter bonnet. It is quite a statement piece and it had cool story behind it also. And zooming is kind of fun. The biggest problem is the kids don't always show their faces for various reasons, and we can't require it. It would be much more fun to see them all and have them participate that way. And you did make some fun eggs. Have a happy new week. Hugs-Erika
Looks like a great day for sure. And the scones look great. I have only had biscuits, have never had a scone so I might have to make some just to see what the difference is. Not ever had the sweet tater hash like that. I bet the sausage with those sweet potato's are great. Might need to look those up and make that too. I love sweet taters...
Oh Jeanie those are beautiful decors! My favorite is your Easter headpiece which is so colorful! It feels so good to see you and your friends of over 40 years now! I feel so moved and touched whenever I hear about strong and lasting friendships. I also have a group of friends who are like my brothers and sisters, all 8 of us were classmates since Kindergarten until the end of Senior year and until now we constantly communicate through Facebook even if one is already in France and the other is on Kuwait. Sending you hugs and I would love that Sheep Chocolate but I can never ever eat that IT's TOO CUTE!

We HAVE to celebrate that Spring is here and you do it with style!
Aha. Now I get waht Zoom is about! Gosh I feel old...
facetime??? I need help! We used a phone yesterday, a normal old-fashioned phone - Cordless at least ;-)
A sweet yawn indeed there!
Well you certainly managed to celebrate lockdown Easter in style, didn't you? Lovely decorations, delicious food, and when I saw Lamb Chop, I melted like chocolate left in the sun. Loved sweet Lamb Chop! Your mask is just the cutest ever.
Deb in Wales.
LOVELY to catch up with you, Jeanie... and see all your Easter decorations and Easter happiness--in spite of all the Corona craziness! LOVE seeing all the good things you'd been making, eating and enjoy... even the "wonky" chocolates. ;) Looks like Miss Lizzie had a busy Easter too--those kitties now how to do holidays! How wonderful the Zoom time with your old colleagues! Thank goodness for technology keeping us together now! We notice we reply on the internet for even more now! Happy Easter Week! ((LOVE & HUGS))
I should NEVER visit your blog when I'm hungry, Jeanie. You always have yummy looking food, even for a vegetarian. Lovely bread Rick made. I made scones once, but never again. Yours look wonderful.
Those two latest little dolls are absolutely incredible. You found some beauties indeed. Happy post Easter week. Stay safe and take care of yourself, dear Jeanie.
Jeanie, it looks as if your weekend was wonderful. The food looks delicious and now you have me craving French toast. FaceTiming with children is hilarious! I am so glad you were able to celebrate! Have a good week!
What a great week! I love how festive you made it, Jeanie. Your mom's hat is great, and in great vintage condition!
Looks like you managed to have a really nice Easter Jeanie and you sure packed a lot into it. I love your mom's hat. So pretty and such a cute photo of you wearing it. We had a quiet Easter, with just some good food and then some inspiration online. Getting food is a bit problematic here also as although you can shop online, being able to book a slot for delivery is almost impossible. Its very frustrating to say the least! But I am grateful for what we do have and it is more than many so I won't complain. God bless and stay safe! xoxo
I absolutely love your special bonnet! Your decor is amazing. Love those gems by Crystal. Is there a link to purchase? Have a wonderful week!
You never disappoint!:) Lol your get up..the bonnet is dear!..only you.. I have never seen J decorate an egg:)You're all like a tribe of fun loving kids!
Your little collections are also..so you!
Made challah here to but yesterday.
How great your chocolates turned out? Lamb Chop♥♥♥♥
Jeanie, it looks as though you had a great Easter. The scones look too yummy.
I love your hat, it is the perfect Easter Bonnet. And Rick's bread - goodness he is a baker. Glad you and Rick enjoyed the day.
It is on the cold side here. We are to be in the 40's all week. Your area is probably colder. Continue to stay well and be sure Lizzie gets her beauty rest. Have a great week.
Wow Jeanie, you sure know how to party, even if it's just the two of you :)
I got lazy, we had leftover for lunch on Easter Sunday, but I made Rice pudding for dessert. The sugar eggs are so pretty.
I only use Zoom for my now online French classes, there's just 3 students and the teacher. Otherwise with the family we use Whatsapp.
Look at that Lizzie kitty!
Those daffies are absolutely gorgeous and the scones are making me very hungry.
Elbow bumps
You really make the most of every opportunity. I admire you. You are lucky that you were allowed to visit Rick, here the government tells us not to get together with anyone other than those who live in the same house.
All those decorations, is it sad to have to put them all away again for another year?
Awww, your kitty is adorable, Jeanie!!! I'm glad you had fun celebrating Easter and Passover with friends over Zoom. I got on there for the first time last Tuesday on a call with April of April J. Cornell, who lives in London. Was a fun online teatime visit with several new friends!!
Yes, onward with this lockdown. I think all my building last week has caught up; I am tired today. ;)
Happy spring!
Barb
Looks like you had a wonderful holiday! Glad you were able to scrounge together a special meal despite not getting your instacart delivery!
Phil’s mom usually does an Easter egg hunt for us adults. So we missed out on that this year. Hopefully next year we will all be together and holidays will be more back to normal!
I love best your eggs and your egg tree. But throw in a festive meal and a walk to the ditch -- quite a rich day after all!
Jeanie, only you could make a special day special in your own way and with what you have. You are enjoying life as it is and we should all follow your lead..Glad you had a Happy Easter..xxoJudy
You do Easter up right! How special.
Jeanie,
Looks like you had a great Easter!! We celebrated like always with truly no changes at all...I have not given an Easter basket to anyone for at least 20 years!! Joe and I never did things like that and my kids wanted money instead of an Easter basket so I stopped that tradition a long time ago.....
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and for letting me know that you did by leaving a comment!! Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
Hugs,
Debbie
Sounds like you had a wonderful Easter, even with needing to do some things quite a bit differently.
Lizzie is so sweet. How wonderful to have her unchanged when so many things are changing daily.
I see your Easter was filled with many activities to keep your busy. Yum, those scones look delicious. First time I've not been able to make Easter baskets and I missed that. Rick looks very interested in his and thank you for Lamb Chop!
The scones look so good. Yes, I only list one at a time, so I don't have to pay for the listing on etsy until the one is sold at a time. I think I actually have about 3 left and then that is it.
It looks like you had a very special, but different Easter.
