There's a Bunny In the House!

I'm pretty sure this isn't going to be my biggest "decorate for Easter" year. But if you don't get the bunnies out a few weeks before Easter, when will you?

So up came the favorites. I realized the pressure was off to put up everything I had when I remembered that I had given a good deal to Goodwill last spring. It made the choices easier!

One of the things I regret before the "staying in" was not buying fresh flowers (which, of course, would be dead by now!). Still, I'm glad I have my "permanent botanicals," as my friends at Southern Exposure call them! These tulips are quite real.

This is one of my Vintage by Crystal favorites. Two more are coming soon! I have hardly shopped since the book buy in Canada and I figured I deserved it!

The top of the china cabinet always needs some pretty! Some of my favorites are here -- a swag my cousin gave me several years ago, some bird's nests...

...the sweetest bunny bank a friend sent me (it's filling with my spare change but no deposits of late. alas!)

This nest had the perfect message for our times. Peace, Hope, Joy. Especially hope.

The tiny peat pot was one of a series from my crafting times a couple of years ago.

This bunny was new last year. I can't resist a bunny!

The mantel of the family room is pretty routine.

I'm so glad I have a boatload of bunnies in the basement! The apple blossom swag on the left was a Southern Exposure project a few years ago. I may move it elsewhere but for now, it works.

The lantern was a Southern Exposure project long ago that has been done over and over. It just seemed right to have a bird's nest nearby.

On the heart, a mama bunny and her baby have found their own little carrot patch!

My cheery bunny found a new home in the family room this year. The basket next to it was a rainy-day project a few years ago. I just hot-glued faux carrots to a basket and filled it with a bunny to peek out.

Like I said, I love the bunnies.

I'm also a sucker for wreaths. This one has a few of my felties.

And there was a little forsythia left over, so I tucked it into the former Christmas wreath. I love the rustic look.

Atop another cabinet, a bit more forsythia. These were art fair purchases decades ago. I love their simplicity.

Above the desk, a birdhouse back in the birdhouse-making days, flanked by two bunnies!

Let's take a look in the hutch. Peter Rabbit is waiting!

And more nests. Long after the bunnies are gone, the nests will remain somewhere!

Finally, this week's centerpiece. Who knows? Maybe it will be there all the season! I love my Pendelfin rabbits, which I started collecting when I was a kid.

I haven't brought out their "house" yet, because I'm running a little tight on room. (I still haven't done the Easter egg trees either, and I'm beginning to wonder if they'll make an appearance.

Well, I still have a couple of weeks!

I've JUST got the Christmas cards and Valentines put away in the last week, but maybe I can dig out the Bunnykins china bowl and fill it with mini eggs.

Jeanie, your bunny collection is darling! They all look very happy in your home and surely are multiplying. I know this for a fact as they do in my home as well. Thank you for reminding me that I must check on my bunnies and bring them out.

Love all of your bunnies. I have not even thought of Easter now since I had to cancel it. Will need to do a few things. Also like your flower arrangement of tulips and apple blossoms. They look real to me! Janice

I did recently get some more spring-like ornaments and decorations out … seeing your fabulous post may just spur me on to getting the Easter ones out.

Loved seeing your photographs.

All the best Jan

You always have the prettiest seasonal and holiday decorations. I'm so glad COVID-19 hasn't stopped that. It was nice to go online and see something pretty today.

I like "permanent botanicals" as the name. I need to get some since our cats would never let us have any real ones. How do you pick out the ones that are going to look so real?

Love bunnies too, but certainly don't have many in comparison. So fun to see all of your bunnies, flowers, and wreaths. Now I feel like I need a trip to my basement to look for more to put out. Right now my mantel is covered with birthday cards, but they go down tomorrow as it is a new month. So off to the basement and maybe the garden for some blossoms. Thanks for the inspiration.

All your bunnies are cute but I especially love the big one on china cabinet. Tell him if you even so much as look at him cross-eyed he's welcome to come live with me.

It is nice to see all these joyful spring decorations. Bunnies and eggs and spring flowers, with all the virus scariness it is good to see something expected and normal. Well maybe the old normal. Hugs-Erika

Jeanie, I especially like the Peter Rabbit items. I have always adored Peter Rabbit. I'd love some fresh flowers right about now, too, but I'm not inclined to look for them just now. If I have to go into the grocery store, I just want to get in and get out as quickly as possible. Greetings from my bunker to yours! :D

I love how you say this isn't going to be the biggest decorating season when it looks like you went all out haha. There's so many things to mention here, Jeanie....where do I start? Well, that cheery laughing bunny really got to me, he's so funny. I love those Pendelfin rabbits you have collected since you were a kid. Such treasures, all of them. They're so cute - I've never seen them before. I've always loved your lantern cause it's so unique looking. And that purple pot is cool. So many wonderful decorations out for Spring. I wasn't going to decorate this year, but you have inspired me. : )

Loving all the bunnies! But I love the decor with the tulips the best. I had some tulips coming up in a pot that Amber gave me last yr. They have come up pretty good but I am not sure they will bloom this yr....however, I have planted them at the new house. In reply to your door needing some love, a small quart of paint can bring so much color and love to a much needed door. I have no clue why a few yrs ago I bought a whole gallon of the red but I did. I painted both doors at the house. Then I did several touch ups on the front when it got banged up. Still very little gone and I even painted the front door yet again since I was moving!!! PLUS, I painted the back door here with still paint left over. The cool thing is I use paint a lot so it will never go to waste. What color is your door now and what color would you give it now?

I love all your bunnies and floral arrangements--very pretty! You are better than me--I am too sad to decorate for Easter. I have no holiday spirit I usually host for my entire family and this year will be so different. Thankfully my church is streaming services online every day and will do an Easter service so that will be nice. I love all your bunnies and floral arrangements--very pretty!

I'm so glad you have brought your bunnies out. It might actually inspire me to get out my Easter decorations, too. I absolutely adore all your little vignettes you create and all the bunnies you have collected over the years, Wish there was a Rocking Bunny Holiday (grin),

Those tulips look real indeed, beautiful! You got Werther´s Original?! Funny. I grew up with those.
The Vintage one sure has something! And the cheery bunny :-)

You have me at a disadvantage here, Jeanie, since we don't do any of this, nor do I have friends who do. It is a bit amazing to me, however, the extent to which religious festivals have been coopted into secular events without even the remotest connection to their religious origins, and it seems that popular celebrations increase in direct proportion to the diminution of religious observance. There was great gnashing of teeth recently by the student bodies of our two local universities that the annual St. Patrick's Day festivities were cancelled - i.e. no excuse to clog the streets with drunken morons, puking on the sidewalk, and outdoing each other in gross activities of one kind or another. SAINT Patrick's day? Hmm.

Looking light, flowery, springy, fun.
You have LOTS . . .
(What pray tell did you give away!)

I had the same thought about fresh flowers.
“Why didn’t I purchase some fresh!!!”
I am going to decorate a bit today . . .
No one will see it except US . . . we count though!

Stay stay safe, well and smiling Jeanie!

Good Morning Jeanie and Adorable Bunny Collection!
You know this made me smile so much and I do believe that is exactly what we all need on the Wednesday in April. Uncertain times, combined with grief that our world is in the grips of an unpredictable virus. More than ever we need each other and I am grateful that I have you!
The dearness and beauty of this post is like a beacon for us all.
Love and hugs to you my friend,

Hi Jeanie. All you little bunnies are so precious. Good things to see these days. Your little felties amongst the forsythia is so cute and colorful. I thought maybe I forgot Easter, as I can't seem to keep track of the days. But you said we have two weeks, so I'm golden!.Happy Wednesday..xxoJudy

It certainly looks cheerful at your place, Jeanie, and that's a very good thing. I only have a few bunny decos and those are placed on a small shelf outside the apt entry. I will try and remember to take a photo, but then there is so much to do these days, right?

Your house looks so bright and festive. Love all the bunnies! This was going to be the year I was going to put more effort into decorating and get seasonal wreaths for our door. But that plan went out the window! The Easter bunny will come but that is the extent of our Easter plans and decor. Hopefully next year we will do more!
