This, That and the Other Thing

Before the month gets a little too crazy, I thought I'd wrap up September. It was a month filled with road trips to the lake.

Home repair on the cottage.

Running into an old friend and former work colleague while picking up Rick from his Lansing to Mackinac bike ride.

Picking up a rider all in one piece!

Good dinners on the porch.

Progress.

Pretty flowers.

Signs of fall.

New wreaths.

Baking.

Pretty stamps. Magical...

...and thoughtful.

Planning!

And a little more work to do!

(Not to mention decorating for fall -- but that's for another day!)

Ohhh, those green eyes!
Must be wonderful to meet a former colleague and friend!
Such healthy food! Since off meds my body just wanted junk ;-)
So England/London it is! Last time I was 19! Happy planning!

Wrapping up September! For me it's barely begun. But you've done a lot so far, and I hope it goes well for the rest of the month.

I have so enjoyed your cottage adventures this summer, Jeanie. I wonder if you have closed the cottage for this year? Looks as though you have an exciting trip planned and I think Rick Steves is the perfect planning partner.

I like the way you did this, Jeanie. It was a good month. :)

You sure know how to pack a lot into a half of September. Do you ever go on bike rides with Rick? Love your baked goods and planning books.

Enjoyable review of the first part of the month. Good photos of good times (well, maybe home repairs weren't that much fun).

I love the blue trim around the windows.
The food looks pretty good too:)

Oh, those windows are wonderful! Wish I could get so motivated. I always think blue and yellow is a lovely combination. And looks like you'll be well prepared for your trip!

That seems like a full summer! And London? What a glorious place. I lived there for a semester as a college student, and I have so many wonderful memories.

How does the cat cope with travelling? One of mine foams at the mouth just going down the road to see the V.E.T.! :D

The cat's my favourite.

No one should look quite as fit as your “cyclist in one piece” does. Should be against the law!

Full summer days . . .
with flowers, paint jobs, friends, bike trips, London Town planning, veggie meals,
baking sweets to add to the cottage time treats,
It has been a great summer hasn’t it . . . for you Jeanie!

You are having a glorious month. All kinds of things I'd love to be doing so reading your post was quite a joy. September is a fantastic month, isn't it? And planning a trip is one of the most fun things. I'm planning a smaller trip for February and although it's not London and Paris, but the planning is exciting. Enjoy. Hugs-Erika

It sounds like you had a very nice September, Jeanie. Your cat's eyes are so pretty. That's a charming picture of Rick working on repairs at the cottage. And that dessert looks Yummy. I always ask to see the choice of stamps before I buy any - there's so many different ones out now. I look forward to seeing your Fall decorating. : )

Jeanie! It looks like you have had a busy time of it as summer wanes into Fall! I love that Rick is so intent on his cycling -I know it is a healthy exercise and glad that he can do it.
Fall decorating can wait a bit-enjoy these last few nice warm days. xo Diana

Did you fit all that in to this month already? Or did you mean August?

Either way, it sounds like you've been having a wonderful time, with plenty more wonderful things to come.

Hello, you had a busy but fun month! I enjoyed a trip to London back in 1985, it is a great city. The tart looks delicious. Cute shot of your kitty. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!

Jeanie, Working is something we all have when we own a home. It's always something needed fixed, mended, recycled...you name it. Your hubs stays in shape riding that bike. I love that you can eat on the porch. It is really slipping into fall. Blessings to all, xoxo, Susie

Summer's end makes me sad and it certainly is busy. I love you are getting a lot of lake time and enjoying all the fun it brings, flowers, sharing delicious meals and getting in a little or a lot of work prepping for winter. It makes me sad to see all the wonders of summer end but so much to look forward to with fall and the holidays. Fall is the best time to enjoy being outside here, when the heat and humidity are gone. Lots to do then! I loved seeing your happy smile with you bumped into an old friend and love the kitty pic. She's so good about the cage. My sister's cats freak with the cage comes out.
Enjoy your weekend.

What a special way to reminisce on September. Rick Steves is the best for planning travel. Glad Rick made the bike trip safely. Meeting friends and time at the cabin would be the very best. Oh the adventures of life when savored can be so special.

I like your September wrap up, and lovely photos. I have made a start on tidying up the garden for winter. Your baking looks delicious, I'm guessing it's an apple tart. I'm collecting blackberries when I walk the dogs. I freeze them then I'm going to make a load of blackberry and apple pies and crumbles, and maybe a strudel! :-)
