This week I am posting over at Modern Creative Life. The theme of this summer's posts at this site is "Refresh and Restore."
I'm reviewing how I discovered how to restore my soul after living under self-imposed "Moscow Rules" for the last two years of my long career and how I rediscovered joy, peace and happiness.
I hope you'll click over and check it out. Each post reflects the theme and posts are written by a number of bloggers and writers. (And while you're there, take a look down at some of the other posts and see the submission guidelines, too!)

I really enjoyed your post and I can relate to your wise words of wisdom. I also left my high stress job for a more less stressful one.
Sometimes we do not realize how bad things can get. So enjoy your life, your doing terrific.

Mary
Hilarious rules really. Greetings!
some VERY wise words there!
I need that list. I figure I have 3 years left, with many big changes happening next year. I feel like it is going to be a tough adjustment and a long 3 years. Love your article. I think heading to your summer place after everyone left was smart. Sitting home knowing you suddenly don't need to go to work has to be hard. But being away helps you get out of the swing of it all so when you come home, your head must be in a different place. Great article Jeanie. I enjoyed reading and it gave me some food for thought. Hugs-Erika
I love your post! I have been in job situations like that--it was like that at the newspaper before I left. It really does gnaw at the soul. I'm glad you have found restfulness and activity in "retirement." I always enjoy reading about your adventures and activities.
Wow, that quite a strict set of rules to have worked within... So glad JOY is the song you're singing these days, Jeanie! Off to see you post.. :) ((HUGS))
These rules sound like some that my first husband imposed on me! At least I can laugh now. Isn't it wonderful to free and happy as can be!!

Great post, and I'm glad you found the balance that works for you.
It sounds like it was the right time for you to get out of that stressful job, Jeanie. You're certainly not one of those people who retire and then be bored for the rest of their lifes. You have so many interests and hobbies that will keep you active. By the way, you look much younger than you are.
Hugs,
Julia
Hi Jeanie, I've been on the road visiting with family. I'm headed over to read, I certainly need to read this post! Hope you are enjoying a wonderful week........hugs.
Jeanie, I loved reading the article you wrote. And those rules...I'd never heard of this before, but now you can start living your dream life without all that pressure from working!
