Shortly before the holidays Cork Popper Barb and I went to have a beverage of another kind!
We went to a high tea at the Grand Oak Herb Farm in Bancroft, MI.
This charming farm also offers a variety of classes, including those in making lotions and potions (for cleaning and otherwise!)
We were there for the food and the tea.
But we were thrilled by the decorations, inside and out.
Of course, everything about it was wonderful, beginning with a scone and tea bread.
Then came the salad filled with nuts and fruit and very red-and-green for the holidays.
The main course included fabulous roasted veggies, scalloped potatoes, chicken and beef that was cooked so divinely it simply fell apart!
We had two desserts -- a sweet potato/white chocolate cake and a cranberry upside down cake.
After that our host, Beulah, answered questions about the food and tea, we enjoyed holiday crackers, party favors and a discount at the gift shop.
And then it was time for a farewell to this sweet spot with such wonderful treats!

What a fabulous looking place! I would love to visit it one day. I fell in love with that tea cup. Occasionally I see tea cups in wonderful old fashioned styles and patterns. I do collect plates in old designs and different styles and use them when guests come, but I don't have the space to store tea cups and tend to use mugs anyhow when drinking tea!

Oh, my gosh. I just love places like this. And I love cones and pretty salads and lovely table settings. I guess it's a girl thing. My sister and I used to find neat little places like this and eat and sip and talk and talk the afternoon away. So many good memories.

What a lovely place; I too love to visit places like that. When I am in England, I seek them out, but here in Denmark they are few unfortunately...
That looks like so much fun! Did you do this last year as well? I want to say you have done something similar before, but maybe it was a different time of year? What a fun thing for 2 good friends to do, though!

Nothing is quite the same as going to high tea and what a beautiful place you went to. We have a place in town that does afternoon tea that I like to take my granddaughters to, but the decor is no where near as elaborate as this.

What a wonderful place and a wonderful time! LOVE that little pink hut! I've not been to a tea room in a long time, and always fun to go to one around the holidays. I received some spicy Christmas tea as a gift from my sister-in-law--sooo good! It's been a LOT of feasting here. After much festivity and making ready, it's relax time now... aaahh... What a marvelous afternoon! I confess I'm not much of a fan of tea, but for the sake of the ritual, the sweets, the environment and the food, I would be willing to drink tea!
Your photos are so fine. I wouldn't mind living in that little hunt. I'm not so fond of the pink, though. Perhaps they'd let me paint it!
It looks absolutely delightful, Jeanie! Wish I could have joined you! We used to go for high tea at a local tea room when we celebrated Christmas with Aunt Molly at our home in Valencia, CA. Alas, those times are gone -- along with the tea room and Aunt Molly. But I remember how relaxing and delicious it was. I'm so glad you had such a lovely time -- and let us come along virtually!

You've been busy taking photos and posting - I applaud you and deeply appreciate your sharing!!! This is a wonderful place and such great colors...are there more of these shoppes around then we realize OR are you in the perfect locale that offers such tea/gift/gorgeous shoppes? Maybe both. I've just learned of another shoppe here which will be on our itinerary for your next trip to STL!
