'Tis the season to run around, find gifts, decorate, wrap. I think it's time for pie!
That means a visit to Sweetie-Licious Pie Pantry and Bakery in DeWitt! (And yes, they mail order!)
Linda Hundt, the Sweetie herself, is the winner of the National Pie Contest (as seen on Food Network), along with a number of other contests. Check out her delightful blog, too!
One bite of her tasty treats and its easy to see why!
But a visit to Sweetie-Licious is more than sweet treats, especially at the holidays.
So, enjoy a few of my favorite touches from one of the tastiest places in town.
It all begins with a welcome.
Then you enter -- and see the line! It moves quickly and besides, that gives you time to puruse all the options -- decadent cookies, large deep dish pies (Tom's Cherry Cherry Berry Pie is a hit!) and enchanting cupcakes -- I was fond of the coconut covered white cupcakes! The cabinet below this display is filled with treats!
Take a look left, right, up and down. You'll see a giant story book hanging from the ceiling...
...the "Pixie Pantry" atop Linda's signature pink boxes, all awaiting pick-up.
Here's a closer look!
A jolly Santa climbs down a vintage chimney.
Sweet vintage villages remind us of our childhoods...
...while a cute sign reminds us that special orders are available.
Holiday balls and greens are another reminder of the holiday.
Like we needed it. (The reminder, I mean. We always need pie.)
Feel like cooking? Grab an apron! The vintage textiles look perfect here!
And if you're looking for some reading material, you'll find a book or two to enchant you!
Settle in for a snack at one of the three tables -- or a salad or quiche.
Or, if you prefer, just take pictures! It's hard not to!
The fact is, Sweetie-Licious is just so darned sweet that you might not even need to have a snack to get that happy sweet feeling.
But you'll want to. Time to make pie?
Word on the street is "it's easy!"
(Thanks, Linda, for letting me shoot to my heart's content! And the Lemon Cherry Bomb cookie gave me the energy to do it!)

What? No mention of our special tea time together, and where is that photo we took of the two of us? Did you read my Tour Mutts, yet? It's a fun place to shoot, and so very sweet. Love you, Linda!
I do love me some pie.
This was the cutest post. Makes me want to go to Cary Street, a part of our town that has all kinds of quaint shops and restaurants.
That's the kind of place where I could get into serious trouble!
Oh, my, it looks so yummy and fun!
That looks like a place where I could get into a lot of trouble, but I would be willing to risk it if I had a chance to go there.
What a cool place! I hope you had a slice of pie. :) I love unique, local places like that!!
Very cool! And you took all these pictures fueled only by a single Lemon Cherry Bomb cookie? I can only marvel at your restraint. Sure looks like a festive and charming place to meet a good friend for a healthy measure of holiday cheer -- thanks for the tour!
Pie is my all time favorite dessert. Love, love pie. Thanks for sharing this very cute pie shop.
What a neat sounding place! And, what great photos! You are the best spokesperson for cool things in Lansing.
The collections of vintage toys look wonderful!
MMMMMMMM, pie.
I love it all, I am going to borrow your pie pic, but I will give you credit.
Wow, Jeanie! What a great virtual visit to a place that is...well, totally my kind of place! I loved it!! And no calories for just looking and savoring it all!
And I can only look and admire! Does Sweetie do mail order of her pies? These are such beautiful Christmas photos, your seasonal posts are just lovely, Jeanie! And you look refreshed, in the spirit of the Season. That photo of yours can make one nice Christmas card, you know.
I was going to say we don't have any place like this - but we do! It's in Galveston, and it's called the Sunflower Bakery. It's all French-countrified, but they have great salads, brunches and - pies!
I'll have to head down there and see if their atmosphere is as festive as yours. I suspect not. I wonder if, in the higher latitudes with more snow and more dark, "festive" becomes more important?
In any event - the place is beautiful and so are you. I hope you stay as refreshed as you look in that photo. Keep your strength up with lots of Christmas goodies!
Mmm.. I do love me some pie:)
Everything looks wonderful!
Enjoy the season sweet friend!

J - One should never look at some gorgeous luscious pictures before one has eaten her breakfast. Egads, I'm drooling. Nothing will do but to find something with cherries on it. I will be leaving shortly on errands and will fetch a danish - tho' it could hardly compare with what you've shown us here.
Your photo stories are better than ever - I loved this!
I think a trip north next year during the holiday season is in order. I promise to cook clean and/or decorate if you will tour us around to these delightful places you know.
Bravo. I am refreshed on the holiday spirit now and go forth merrily!
more later!!!!
