Wow! Those remind me of the classic photographs of Paris in the first half of the 20th century. There’s so much design in every little detail of almost all pre-War Paris buildings. (The sixties were a train wreck for architecture!)

I took a class on developing film back when camera had film and came to love black and white photography. Your photos are wonderful. My favorite is the Marais Rooftops. A classic for those of us who love lines, contrast and balance in our black and whites.

I am sure that I am a Philistine but black-and-white photography leaves me cold. There is no doubt a whole degree of artistic interpretation that escapes my untutored eye, but a yellow banana, red cherries and a strawberry shake all look better in colour. And as for birds....well, let me not even go there!

These turned out stunning in black and white. Most impressive when desaturated. In fact it makes Paris look vintage. Great choice for this week's challenge.
It´s really interesting how regular things turn into wonderful art this way! The coutyard and the Bank Window are my favorite, but they´re all beautiful and kinda seem to come from a different timeline.
The pictures are stunning. I like the details a lot. The Opera house is amazing.

There is something SO strikingly beautiful about black & white photos, but Paris? It's truly magnifique! One of my favorites was the courtyard!

Wonderful! Black and white add something dramatic to pictures of such scenes. I think my favourite is the courtyard, mainly because it is the simplest.

O Paris was in classy black and white when the Nouvelle Vague filmmakers appeared in the cultural scene. Your photos remind me of the films of these New Wave directors, "Breathless", "400 Blows", and yes, my fave, Agnes Varda's "Cleo from 5 to 7". :)

When i first visited paris I was 3yrs old. Many photos of that trip were in B&W. Its quite emotional visiting these now... like my 3yo memory was awakened.
Thank you for taking us on a Parissiene tour, Jeanie! Love the b/w photography!!! I'll take the carved angels and the lamp... Stark contrast to the city rooftops of the next photo, I think it was. Amazing shots!!!
