Getting Our Holiday Groove On

Many of you may know that every year I do an annual holiday sale with other artists in one of the artists home. It was last week and I wanted to share some of the photos.

There were ten of us this year and we all do complementary but different things. For example, there are several jewelers but their work is very different.

I had my silk scarves that I learned thanks to Elizabeth's blog! Dig into her tutorials for some fun ideas!

I also had quite a collection of mixed media collage cards, along with photo cards in two sizes.

The small notes are thank you sized, the larger ones 5x7.

For the first time I put some of my watercolors on the cards. I was so happy those went well!

I was also pleased to see Thanksgiving cards sell. I always wonder who still buys cards. At least a few people do!

I had a few other things too, mostly holdovers from previous years. Those include some mixed media canvases and plaster boxes.

The little Scrabble tile pieces had a few fans, too!

Of course, there were tags, journals, pocket-sized silk kleenex holders, mini-notebooks lots of fun things!

My fellow artists created calendars, pottery soap dishes, soap and lotions, pens and accessories, cozy knits, ornaments, coasters, keepsake boxes and so much more. I think we did a lot of our own shopping too!

And we had lots of good treats and door prizes.

After I fill some special orders this week, the remaining inventory will be available if anyone is interested. If you are, let me know in the comments and I will probably create a link or blog page here where you can take a look.

Fun fun fun..it reminds me so much of setting up a craft table w/ a friend about 35 years ago to pay for my realtor's class..I didn't want jacques to pay in case I didn't make it:)
I did..But that craft sale was so much FUN...
Kudos..well done!

Your silk scarves put my tutorial to shame, dear. They are beautiful. I love each and every one of them.

Your other items are great, too. Lots of talent in that room.

Another friend and I held a craft fair in my home in MO one year right after Thanksgiving. One lady kept calling it a garage sale and asking me to reduce my prices. I wanted to throw her out, but the customer is always right, and I tried to be polite and let her down gently there would be no bartering for handmade items. It's too bad we didn't have more artists, because that would never happen in your sale.

Jeanie, I'd love to buy one of your silk scarves - do you have any remaining with blue included? Just send me an e-mail with the price and where to send the check. You pick the scarf to "surprise" me!

I'm glad it went well. I just couldn't get back in the car so soon after the two day drive from Florida or I would have come (I have fond memories of the year I showed up). You are very talented and make beautiful art.

What a fun event! I wish I could have teleported myself there to peruse all of the goods! I love the pieces that incorporate scrabble tiles! So fun, especially for a scrabble lover like me! I hope you sold lots of your goods.

This is a reminder that I need to pick up Thanksgiving cards for my parents and grandma. I'm still a card lover and always will be. There's just nothing like getting a card in the mail!

Sooooo much FUN, Jeanie! And so many beautiful things created... shoppers were really spoiled for choice this year! So many lovelies you made. I really love those Scrabble pieces--what a great idea! I hope you sold lots! What a terrific group you're part of there, and a terrific event! Sooo go to what you've been up to lately. Sorry for the quiet on this end. On top of an already tough year, we lately lost our Charlie-kitty, who had cancer unbeknownst to us... He was our baby, you know... so we are very sad. The homiday cheer ahead will offer nice distrations! Happy Days, my friend ((HUGS))

Your cards look lovely, Jeanie.

Oh, this is something that I would have loved to gone to, I really like holiday craft fairs. Those vintage cards are so delightful. My sister first introduced me to vintage cards years ago, and ever since then, I was hooked. Those necklaces are cute as well. And the food looks so Yummy! This is a nice thing that you do every year, Jeanie. I noticed you right away in the picture by your pretty face and warm smile. :)

Sounds like it went well, and was a delightful experience for everyone. I'm glad. Not surprised though, since shoppers couldn't be anything but delighted with all those handmade goodies on offer, and seeing them exclaim over the things you'd worked so hard on must have made you feel wonderful.

So many lovely things!

When you are wondering who buys cards -- note that "buying" and "sending" are two separate things. ;-) ;-) ;-) I buy a lot of cards I can't bear to part with.............
