We had a sunny sky yesterday.
Actually, we had one the day before, too.
It was very promising.
Made me think of all the things I'll enjoy when the sun comes out!
Time at Myrtle Beach for Rick's trade show.
Time at the lake -- I always think of my mom and dad at the lake so many decades before -- how glad they would be that I still love being there!
Fresh berries -- not those styrofoam things they have in the store at this time of year!
Lovely walks under an orange crescent moon.
Walks just about anywhere -- this butterfly sighting was in Banner Elk, NC, but it could be at the lake or some other exciting new spot!
Fresh blueberries.
Fresh herbs.
Tulips...
...and irises...
...and even more flowers in glorious gardens!
The bright colors of spring and summer.
The return of the summer birds.
Music under the stars.
And no more snow, please!
I'm just sayin'...!

Always grateful for a sunny day in wintertime! :-)
I have to say -- we've come this far -- I would like to see us hang in and make the record for "snowiest winter."
:-) It's already the coldest, I believe, and I think we only need another foot or so, to make it to snowiest.
-- V -- hoping that all the snow we have melts s l o w l y so we don't have too much flooding!
does this mean you have your computer back?
Ohhhh....let me tell you about our February! We are buried in the most snow on RECORD for Minnesota...and we're talking MINNESOTA! Jeanie, good to see you over at Nowhere! Wait until you see Rattus's homecoming...Penny just made me a Rattus and when we get him, we shall post. Thanks for joining in on the fun!
I feel the same way as you do. Can't wait for all this ice to go away!
Spring must come soon for you. This post is like a ray of sunshine, even if it is dreaming. Flowers will shine again and so will the sun. The snow will melt away and warm breezes on a sunny day are around the corner.
I wish I could teleport you here for a bit as the weather has actually been gorgeous. I feel bad saying that because I know my friends in the north are struggling through a bad winter. We had a strange month or so of colder than usual weather but now it's warmer than usual as it's in the 60-70 degree range which feels amazing! It's nice to have nice weather right now as it gives me something positive to focus on as I count down my days in Charlotte...
What a beautiful post, Jeanie! I love your vintage photos, here and in your previous posts. I can see that one doesn't grow out of a cute smile and curiosity. And I'm one to testify a sunny sky doesn't mean spring, or summer. We have bright sunshine and big blue sky even in minus 20 degrees C. That's a blessing truly.
Amen! The sooner this winter is gone, the better! Unfortunately, even after this week's "thaw," it still looks like we have enough snow to stick around until June. Blech.
Love your pictures, though... and your plans. Hold onto those dreams!
Well, heck. Now you have me really hungry for spring. I went into tbe backyard this morning and now that the snow is gone, there is a riot of bulbs coming up. Time to clear away all the leaf and twig debris from the yard and give them room to breathe.
Oh Jeanie, such a beautiful post!
I hope you enjoy your weekend.
What would we do without our flowers?
blessings,
Penny
A sunny day may not mean summer but it does mean there is hope. Your pictures reflect some wonderful memories and dreams. I was cheered today by seeing the tops of some crocus leaves just popping up.
Love the sunshine, but would love it more if it were above freezing. I, too, am dreaming of spring and summer.
I've seen posts from others along these lines. Color, give us color. Warmth, give us warmth. Summer, give us summer.
That precious child in the last photo has to be you. Is it?
Oh my - the weather is really affecting so many of you over in snow land..... I wish I could send you my weekend! The blessed thing about seasons is that they do change - eventually- they always have, and for a while longer they will continue to change. So hold in. I also love the vintage photos (which I assume are of you) - specially in the last post of little girls reading... gorgeous! Hoping you're feeling better and that you've got your computer back.
Oh, my gosh! This may be the most beautiful post you've ever done. Or it could be that these vibrant photos are a wonderful respite for our icy, winter-weary souls. Thank you, Jeanie.
What beautiful summery WARM pictures!
This was a balm for winter sore eyes and winter-dented spirit, Jeanie...*sigh*... What a nice way to start a new week--Thank you! :o) ((HUGS))
I can almost feel the chill
leaving my bones
as I pour over this
sweet sunshiny goodness:)
soon. soon!
