Snow!

I feel a tad sheepish talking about snow when I know so many of you have even more than we do -- which, for Michigan -- isn't all that much.

I can't say it's my favorite site, yet when the sky is this blue, the snow so white -- who can resist sharing a few photos.

These were taken on the Michigan State University campus.

The older part of campus has wonderful brick dorms, ivy covered in summer. In the winter, they're a bit different!

Looking across Landon Field, you can see how they cover a good deal of territory in the central part of campus.

This grotto is near the music building. During the summer months, it's not unusual to see students sitting on the grass, studying or perhaps just enjoying the day. It's a grand spot for a picnic, too -- but not today!

If you read The Marmelade Gypsy last spring and followed me on my campus walks, you might remember Beaumont Tower, one of the campus landmarks. Here it is in winter!

Yes, it is a winter wonderland!

(You can see photos from earlier this winter at Chopsticks and String. I hope to post more from a warmer climate later this week!)

Very Pretty! We still have a little snow left on the ground from this week-end. It was pretty but way too cold to be outside. We have been below freezing since New Years Eve. But good news is there is a warm up this week. We are ready for it too.
Thanks for the pretty winter pics!

I love snow pictures! We didn't get any snow in this cold snap! But I think that was good...we don't deal with it very well downhere!

Very beautiful. No snow here but certainly cold. Though not as cold as some other areas so I can't complain!

Such pretty pictures. I love the cold crisp days. I just don't like driving in blizzards or on ice. But your pictures bring me peace.

The sun on the snow was beautiful, wasn't it? After sloshing around in today's grey muck and mess, I was happy to see these pretty photos :)

I've reached the point where I enjoy snow photos and art depictions MUCH more than I enjoy actual snow. Next summer, we may gaze longingly at your lovely photos.

Beautiful winter images. I would love to see the ivy on the brick walls in summer. I enjoy seeing photos of local landmarks and attractions on everyone's blogs. It's a nice.

It's amazing how consistent the architecture of Big Ten schools is. Those dorms could be at Michigan, Purdue, Indiana...

When the sun reflects off the snow, it's really bright, isn't it?

Interesting winter tour.

Wow this is traveling down memory lane for me. I haven't seen the MSU campus since probably the early 80's. I went there from 78-80, lots of fond memories. I always loved the campus it is such a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing.
