The calendar tells us it is officially spring. I've got to go with that because otherwise, it's just too depressing!
So, on a remarkably warm (60 degree) day, I headed down to the Ditch for a look around, For the most part, nothing had changed much since my last visit, but I did notice this unique pine. I'm guessing it survived the tornado but with definite scoliosis to its trunk. Still, it looks healthy, just odd.
I wasn't the only one there. Dog walkers and families were out, this group enjoying the various informational signs that popped up last year.
Back on the home front, we are girding the loins for a fun visit this weekend with our grandguys. We'll be celebrating (belatedly) Carson's birthday. We also have an early Easter egg hunt planned, since we won't be together on the holiday. And we'll work on the Lego kit Cam gave me for Christmas. As you may recall, (mostly) Cam and I built a cat.
A paraplegic cat, unfortunately, because after he left, I was entrusted with finishing it and I must have messed up somewhere because I couldn't get the last leg to fit no matter what I tried. The kit lets you build a dog and bird, too, so we'll see what comes from it!
There are definite signs of spring in my territory, though. Mini-daffs are beginning to bloom, as are the dwarf irises. I love these wee plants, only about three inches tall.
Inside I've ramped up the seasonal decor too. This is my kitchen shelf.
The bunnies are back. So, too, is a beautiful photo of a Cotswold cottage with an abundance of wisteria, along with a couple of small watercolors by my friend Kate. My late photographer friend, Wally Parshall, did the photo and it is one I treasure.
The egg tree came out for its annual appearance.
This one is always filled with such memories of Mom and me making some of the eggs on the tree. We would huff and puff as we blew them out from small needle holes on each end. This was before the suction tube people can use now!
And then they came up with satiny styrofoam eggs. No more blowing!
This one took a roll of trim and mom cut out all the flowers, then glued them on individually and added the tiny pearls. She had a lot more patience than I did!
I love rabbits. So, they are all over the house!
My friend Maryanne gave me this one. It's a bank. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of change in there right now.
All rabbits have a home with me!
Meanwhile, I leave you with my Pendelfin bunnies, enjoying a concert.

Well you certainly created an Easter Wonderland in your home with so many lovely bunnies and eggs. I love the one you made with your mom with the flowers and pearls. It must take such care to keep them from breaking. I'm sure you and the boys will enjoy the Easter egg hunt you have planned.
Dear Jeanie, when you mentioned scoliosis, it reminded me of a friend of mine who actually has this condition! But then I looked at your photo of the tree! Yes, I can see how you would choose this condition to describe that poor tree!

Jeanie you have a beautiful collection of bunnies. I love them all. The walkway at the ditch with the benches and informational boards along the walk looks very inviting. I'm glad you and your grandsons are enjoying doing legos together. It's never been something I had occasion to do or try. I've never heard of or seen mini daffs or irises. They'd be just the right height for small vases around the house. Enjoy the spring season ahead. Hopefully it will warm up for you and me soon. xx

It's fun to see all your bunnies. You definitely have some fun spring spirit. And as you said, you need to force it this year because winter still hasn't totally left. It was 60 today, and wow, it felt good. But then this weekend we'll be back in the 30's with wind chills probably in the 20's. Holy cow. I think I need more bunnies. Grin.
