Here I am! If you see the little pink triangle near the right pointing to something, that's where my friend Jerry lives and where I'll be staying. (I think if you click on this, it'll be big.)
It's about six blocks north of the Seine, that greenish thing that splits in the middle. Right around the split near the left you'll see a tan spot -- that's Notre Dame. My scanner wasn't big enough to get the whole map, but the Eifel Tower is a little beyond where the image cuts off on the left.
If you use google maps, paste 81 Rue du Temple, Paris 75003 in the "search bar" and click on Street View. You'll see two blue doors -- those open up into a courtyard where Jerry lives in a building on the fourth floor. Wishing I'd done more stair steps!
Jerry will pick me up at the airport on Tuesday -- 11:30 their time, about 6:30 a.m. my time. Give or take an hour; not too sure about the map.
Excited? Of course I am!

One always hears about rain in England and we got the Bath version on this day. And it was odd -- it would pour relentlessly and hard; then ...

For those unfamiliar with Northwest Airlines, their schedules are a mere estimate and are reliable only to within a day or so. As far as I know, Jeanie is in some frumpy hotel in Romulus, Michigan (They call it the Detroit Airport but it's really in a godforsaken place called "Romulus"). Northwest says the flight is on time but it has not taken off and to this hour, there is no known departure time. So, let this be a lesson to those of you who might pre-post your exploits - They might not happen as you suppose! This post is like a credit card bill, your taxes, or the telephone company. It's just the machine talking. Do not confuse it with a real person. So, don't believe everything you read on the internet. It's all a government conspiracy to get people to think what they want to believe. Having said all this, let's all hope Jeanie gets there soon and gets to stay a day or two longer as compensation. Oh no!!! So this was a "scheduled blog post"..... I see. Well, I'm hoping you are in the air at least, dear girl. And I hope Jerry likes his address out there for us all...I went right to the map to see those blue doors! Be safe!
This must be vacation week for bloggers. Everyone I know is going or gone. Have fun!
Happy landings Jeanie. Thrilled for you!!
I'm so excited for you, Jeanie! Give Tara a hug for me and then make her give one to you from me as well. Can't wait to hear the tales!
It will be worth all the hassle! Give Tara a hug (and my book) for me, too. LOL J
Ok, this is like two doors from the apartment where my sister and I stayed in 1997. It too was on Rue du Temple, at the corner of rue des Archives! The patisserie in that corner on Rue des Archives has the best pain aux raisins in the city!
How do you expect me to get any work done this afternoon?
