Coming Out of the Shadows

I'm getting my smile back.
Recently I have spent a lot of time looking at this.
It's a nice back yard -- but it's not that nice! And because it faces east, it isn't long into the day before there are long shadows over the back yard.
I have had a lot of shadows these days as you know.

But while there is still winter and more to come, and while all things aren't so well as I'd like, I have to say...
...there is a little bit of color poking through!
The sky is bluer and the whites seem brighter, just like I am.
The markers that guide me seem clearer, more accessible.
So much of this is thanks to you -- to your kind words of support, calls, emails and sweet kindness.
The last of my IVs are done, and now it's just a waiting game to get up to par and get my groove back all the way. It's taking a little longer than I thought, but we're getting there.
My heart is very full of gratitude. Thank you.

These are beautiful winter scenes. Despite the cold, the sky is blue, and the quiet, snow-covered landscape is serene. Above all, I'm glad to see your huge smile. ;)

I'm so glad you're starting to feel better, Jeanie. It has been a tough winter in so many ways for you. But the fact that you can enjoy the blue sky and color popping up here and there despite the snow is a wonderful sign of your own healing. My thoughts are with you!!

Hi Jeanie. It's so good to see your smiling face again (even WITH your accessory). Interesting how the world gets so much brighter when WE are brighter. Shine on, Miss Jeanie.

So happy to see that smile again! February can be a hopeful month - the birds start singing again because believe it or not, some are nesting! I even saw a couple of robins on a walk the other day and they were chirping. That's a sure sign.

What a long haul you've had. Here's to good health and happier days to come.

A dear friend, who fell and broke both an arm and a knee (!) on November 9 is back in the hospital for the final bit of nip-and-tuck. Because her wound didn't heal properly where her knee was repaired, she's having to have a skin graft. Then, she'll be nearly good as new. More healing, more going at half-speed will be required, but she'll be back home, able to drive, with her dear doggie back with her.

Through it all, she's sounded much like you: occasionally depressed, sometimes hopeful, and, always, thinking, "this is taking a long time!" But she's smiling like you are now - and seeing your smile, all I can think is - "It's springtime for Jeanie's spirit!"

It is still February, but time is on your side now. The days are getting longer, and soon that snow won't have a chance! Enjoy the turning season!

Jeanie,
It always seems like it takes a little longer to heal than we would like. It's been too long for you, that's for sure. I can't tell you how happy I am to see this wonderful post and your smiling face. I think of you every day. I hope your recovery is fast and complete.

Echoing everyone here when I say it's wonderful to see you with a smile on your face again. You look radiant, and everywhere you turn your attention benefits from that amazing Jeanie glow -- you just made a late Michigan winter look somehow lovely and appealing. Here's hoping you are feeling completely better very soon!

Well at least these horrid health woes haven't been when it's beautiful and spring-like and you were longing to get outside (continuing with your positive thinking post). So glad you're feeling better! Hope you're feeling in fine form very soon.
