The fellow below is David. My cousin and best kid buddy. (And still one of my best buddies!) When he got a little older and a little sister, he decided to traumatize her.
At the cottage, the walls were dotted with knots from the pine boards.
"They are little eyes," he told her.
"They're watching you."
They're waiting for you to fall asleep." (Fat chance now!)
And the screams and cries began.
"Who, me?"
What's the worst thing your brother (or sister or so-called friend) ever did to scare you?

I remember when my brother told me that there were alligators in the sewers and they would come up and bite me whenever I sat on the toilet. There was also the time he told me that I had Leprosy (my skin was dey and cracking that winter) and that he wouldn't tell mom and dad; so they wouldn't send me off to an island, but I would have to do his bidding.
That's terrible! (and terribly funny, too!) Can't remember anyone scaring me with stories, except the usual ghost stories ... probably means I was the one terrorizing everyone else.
My SISTER at about the age of 11 decided it would be great fun to post a psychodelic (hmmm, did I spell that right) poster I had from a Bob Dylan album. I hated the poster. It was frightful in the dark. So, of course, one night as I returned home from a date, my sister had hung the poster over her bed so that I would see it as I walked down the hall to my room. She scared the *&%# out of me. To this day, 45 years later, she still thinks it's very funny. I still have the poster. One of these days I should try to sell it on eBay along with the album.
They look exactly like eyes! I'd be scared, too!
When I was little my older cousins locked me in the storm cellar at my grandparents ranch. I was too little to reach the overhead light so it was pitch black. I was terrified since it was underground, damp, and chilly....and who knows what was lurking in the darkness waiting to reach out and grab a little girl!!
These stunning images that appear in the wood, especially the first, like a fox.
Oh that evil David! We are here having a laugh over this.
I would have been scared to death. Thank God David wasn't my brother!
On the other hand, I had Kenny and Howard....
Those knots are scary! My sister use to file her fingernails to points and then threaten me with scratching. It's a wonder we even speak.
I love all the eyes!! Oh, I couldn't even begin to go into what my brother did to me when we were young! haha He makes up for it now, though.
I'm only laughing as for the last 11 years I have thought my wardrobe had eyes and I just thought that to myself. Lo and behold my DS2 who is three next month commented on the same thing last week. I said it was nothing but you're right to small people it's fairly scary stuff..
