Easter is early this year and I'm not quite in full-out decorated mode yet, but getting there. It's hard to think it's nearly spring when outside it looks like this...

ReplyDeleteYou have some beautiful color inside your house Jeanie. My tulips bit the big one and had to be put away. :( I need to get some more spring flowers I think. I know what you mean about Easter decorations. I haven't even thought about that until today. I know tomorrow once the day is an hour longer it will make it seem a bit more spring than it does right now. I love the little stone bird in the eggs and that circle walled garden, is that yours? Lots of green shoots are popping up through the ground now. Spring truly is not far behind. Today I led a birding trip. Cardinals were singing, Common Goldeneyes head tossing, Red-breasted Merganser males vying for female attention......it’s in the air!

Good morning JEANIE! Oh my friend, I have not been able to come by lately; my mornings are so full of RUSH to get ready, drive an hour to school and prepare to teach. Soon however, spring break will be here for me, then April will begin and from that point on, it's all upward and onward for those students!
ReplyDeleteEaster is early this year, and our yearly trip to the lake for sunrise service in our car (with a thermos of tea) will be interesting to view. Spring will always start out on the INSIDE for us, but soon we'll be outside watching the birds come back to make their nests. We have spotted RABBIT BODY prints in our snow! teeeheeeee

ReplyDeleteAnyway. Another charming post - love all the wonderful floral photos. It's still quite wintery here in Connecticut, so I think it's quite appropriate that this year Easter will fall on April Fool's Day!
I'm absolutely over-the-moon for that charming mandolin-strumming European style Victorian clown figurine! I adore all things circus - and especially that le cirque style!
Your final photo is such an enchanting ending - the perfect vignette with that rustic watering pail with flowers, the sparkly faux grass nest with speckled egg, and that lovely bunny. I do literally zero Easter decorating - but if I did, I know that I could take a lot of cues from you!

I wonder if Michigan will go from winter directly into summer, as it often seems to. Your spring decorations are lovely and a delightful reminder of what is just around the corner.

I love that last photo of the watering can with flowers. I have to do that. It's all brown outside here - both the yards and pasture are just brown. No snow. I looked out at the pasture a couple of days ago and tried to believe I saw a little difference, a little green... maybe... mixed in with all the brown. Soon, I tell myself. Soon. It's just sleeping at the moment.

ReplyDeleteYou are experiencing sort of the reverse of what we experience in the fall. About August I start seeing all sorts of fall decor on blogs and in magazines but it's 100+ degrees here with absolutely no sign of fall. You just have to have faith that it will come and try not to rush the days. :)
OH I think I like our spring in TN so much better than yours. Although I am over the rain but loving the trees in bloom and the colors. Hoping you see that soon

ReplyDeleteI'm not so happy about the time change so early in the year. I wish it was done at the end of March. The early mornings just began to be light, now they will be dark again when we have to get up for work. However, I do love the longer evenings - we can't have everything.
It sure looks like ole man winter still has a hold there. Hopefully you will have a thaw and see little shoots coming forward to bring spring flowers. Now, love your color and Easter tulips and bunnies inside.

ReplyDeleteI think snow scenes like that are beautiful, but I know how you (and the birds) are longing for some warmth, some new growth, and a teneral easing of life's struggles. It's hard to believe that we're almost to St. Patrick's Day, and then Easter. Although we have plenty of green, we could do with some blue skies to enhance our celebrations!

Ooo... looks like you're still in a deep freeze there too! Same here...*sigh*... we had even more snow over the weekend... LOL! Oh, but feeding the birds is a winter delight! I can’t believe that Easter is only 2 weeks away. Time is flying! We won’t do any decorating as we are kind of in survival mode around here with a newborn! But life is good. I don’t think I will do an Easter basket for Paul since he’s too young to really care. But his grandma might get him one. His dad has already said he will eat Paul’s candy. :) Phil bought some peanut butter eggs which is my fave Easter treat!! I hope the snow melts soon and spring arrives. We are having his baptism on 4/15 and it would be great to be able to be outside so our tiny house doesn’t feel so cramped!!
