We're closing in on Valentine's Day and so, here's more from the heart!
I love that you can shop after Christmas for loads of red -- and still use it for Valentine's Day! The candle and ribbon were after Christmas finds. I think the small red cake stand was a find last year and that pretty kerchief under was part of a gift package from a friend.
All the trees are down except this one.
With it's pretty red balls, white lights and the addition of a few hearts, it's definitely here for the holiday.
(And given the falling snow that's coming down at this moment, probably for a while beyond that!)
I made a few more valentines. Actually quite a few -- here are some.
For our crafternoon, I dug out some Scrabble tiles and made a few pairings -- I decided to leave them out!
It's time for starlight mints and pink and red M&M's!
I'm not sure these silks look right here but I just couldn't put greens and white branches in a valentine basket!
If I could find a heart, I brought it out!
And it turned out that I had a few!
I always like bringing out the vintage valentines.
This was an early one sent by me as a child, probably to mom and dad.
And here's one I sent to my grandma!
I even have a couple that my dad sent to his mom.
So whether you are coming or going...
...or settling in...
Here's my heart!
Happy Valentine's Day! Enjoy the week!

This is all so pretty, love the Valentine decorations and your never ending creativity.I wish I was half so creative in the decorating department. Enjoy your weekend, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Jeanie,
ReplyDeleteI am a gal that loves pink in all of it's glorious shades. What a creative soul you are in so many ways:) still wish you lived closer to me or I to you. Your Christmas/Valentine Tree is wonderful and how savvy to leave it up and make the most of it and it's wonderful glow.
Happy Valentine weekend to you!
Jemma
I always love your decorating skills and your beautiful Valentines. It's fun to visit your place around that special day. I usually buy Christmas red and green candies, candles, and such after Christmas, then use them for both Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day. More bang for the cheap buck! Glad you do something similar, dear Jeanie. Hope your Valentine's Day is filled with love and heART.
ReplyDeleteThat first card is gorgeous!!!! I love vintage Valentines and have quite a few that I put in scrapbooks years ago.
ReplyDeleteAnn
It all looks so sweet! I adore vintage Valentines and have quite a collection too.

Dear Jeanie,

Love your Valentine tree.. I just finished some wool hearts for my table top tree.

ReplyDeleteVintage Valentine's are always a favorite of mine. I really should put mine out somewhere. I do have a bowl of hearts though. Not sure that is enough when I see all your pretties. Love the tree. I think I may have a white ceramic heart similar to yours somewhere. Humm? Now where is it? Happy Valentine's!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!you are really decked out for valentines day!!--it all looks so sweet and festive! Love all those pretty valentines and the candies and hearts and all. You make things look so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThe only Valentine decoration I have is the Jack of Hearts card you sent me with your rendering of Porch Pup. It's sitting on a small table in the family room.
ReplyDeleteAll of your decorations are beautiful. I love the vintage cards. So sweet. They remind me of school when I was a kid. We used to decorate shoeboxes every year for our valentines. Such fun. I wonder if they still do that.
Such a pretty display with family memories full of love. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your heartful photos. They have brought me happy smiles.
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming Valentines display - and I am just CRAZY about your pressed paper heart at the top of the post - did you make it?! It's stunning!
ReplyDeleteI love old Valentines and wish I had saved some. I have a kind of fun story about one. When I was in kindergarten, a little girl's mother helped her make Victorian style Valentines for the class (I guess Mom was into crafting before Michael's, Joann's and Hobby Lobby!). My mother was so taken with it, she saved it. Flash ahead forty years, I was living in central New York, teaching, and running a restaurant and small country inn. There was a welcome dinner in our restaurant for the new librarian at Colgate University (the local school), and it turned out the librarian was the girl of the fancy-schmancy Valentine - I could still remember her name being scrawled across the bottom of it!
Anyway, thanks once again for sharing your lovely holiday displays with us. I enjoy them tremendously.
Happy Pink Saturday - and Valentine's Day!
I always enjoy your Valentine posts, partly because I recognize so many of those vintage cards as being ones I sent so many years ago. I am curious about that green heart in the middle of the crystal (?) What is that? It looks very much like a huge chunk of peridot, which it probably isn't, but peridot is one of my favorite stones, and if I had that heart, it would be front and center, too!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet, Jeanie. Your last remark.....reminded me of the Avon perfume from years ago.
ReplyDeleteHave a Happy Valentine's Day!
What a sweet collection of vintage valentines you have! So Special! Enjoy the 14th!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post Jeanie. I love your red candle, ribbon and cake stand and your tree is gorgeous. The little duck card is so cute.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful Valentines! Loving the fact that you did some after Christmas shopping and flipped it to use for Valentine's Day. You are creative! Well, we always knew that, but this is one more reminder. Sweet decorations all round!
ReplyDeleteI love the display of vintage cards - I totally wish I had saved my own now! Such a lovely idea.
ReplyDeleteLove the festive looks you are decorating with Jeanie. Valentine's Day is always a fun holiday and I LOVE all the fun decorations you have. Hope your holiday is full of hearts and love. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet post! Love the vintage cards you saved. Your Valentine tree with your handmade cards displayed is so charming.
ReplyDeleteJeanie, what a sweet post to enjoy with my coffee on a rainy Monday morning, You have created so many pretty Valentine’s vignettes and the vintage cards are the best! Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteI like the Valentine's tree. You are so good at decorating!
ReplyDeleteLove all your darling decorations, Jeanie!! Hope you have a wonderful Valentines day!
ReplyDeleteIt's all so sweet and pretty. I'm a huge fan of vintage cards.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful vintage cards Jeanie.
ReplyDeleteLove your decorations for Valentine's Day.
Happy Valentine's Day, my friend. You lifted my spirits.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness I wish I had your talent for decorating ! Absolutely beautiful. I particularly like what you did with the vintage cards, which have always been a favorite of mine. If I recall you also did something at Christmas with vintage cards am I correct?
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteI really like the cards you made, I have trying to get a few together.
It is because lack of time and ideas is why I;m behind
You have great ideas
Oooh, thank you for treating us to all those beautiful hearts!! Something about red and white at this time of year! (and pinks and purples too.) I think I had that ducky one when I was a child! I just love those old kids' cards. And I love the Valentine's that you yourself made!! And the Valentine's Scrabble too!
ReplyDeleteI love all the Valentine's Day decor! Especially the vintage Valentines! I am impressed that you still have them! I loved this holiday when I was a child and I still love it as an adult. Hopefully next year at this time we'll be in a house with a fireplace as I'd love to have a Valentine's Day bunting on the mantel!
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat to see your decorations. Those vintage Valentines are extra-special! My "decorating" consisted of removing the swag and Christmas lights from my antique sled. Luckily, I do have some favorite hearts out year round. Your home definitely makes me want to say HAPPY VALENTINE DAY!
ReplyDeleteI love your candle and berry center piece. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteLove all the hearts...such a fun time of the year.
ReplyDeleteWOW, Jeanie! Such great LOVE Day ideas!! The shopping after Christmas sales for red goodies is a good idea, which I hadn't considered much before, as I've not really decorated much for Valentine's Day as such. Guess I'm a slow learner... haha! ;) LOVE your little white & red tree--sooo pretty!! The sparkly candle and berries is lovely... I admire your decorating for all the seasons and fun times--such an inspiration you are!! :))) ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteAll the card looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAdorable. I have vintage Valentine's from my family too. So fun.
ReplyDeleteOh everything looks so neat. I love the tree.
ReplyDeleteSuch delightful Valentines... and I love it when they are hand made...however the vintage Valentine do bring back fond memories . My Hubby doesn’t arrive home till Saturday .. so I still have some preparation time (ha Ha) and maybe even do a little ‘ RED” shopping ..Thanks for the l super ideas....Hugs
ReplyDeleteThose cards are so sweet:)
ReplyDeleteA Valentine tree, how wonderful! I'm lovin' all the RED on here today, Jeanie. Those vintage Valentines are such treasures, especially the ones that your father gave his mother, and the one you gave to your grandma, how precious. I like the idea of adding the Scrabble blocks to your Valentine décor. And I love those red balls on the tree. They remind me of my dear mom, who used to put them on her tree every year. What a lovely post this was.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a Happy Valentine's Day, Jeanie.
~Sheri
Like I said, no one does holidays like you! You especially shine when it comes to Valentine’s Day. There is something so special about those old Valentines. I don’t think the ones that kids buy in mass today will ever be saved or treasured. Loved this post!
ReplyDeleteAmazing collection of Valentines and ephemera, you certainly know how to celebrate the holidays. Love the white tree with it's love heart decorations, so sweet.
ReplyDeleteLots of inspiration here Jeanie! I love the pretty white tree you are leaving out and adding hearts. I intended doing that and Jim had it put away before I knew what he was doing. I always have my saved valentine cards displayed on a tray or plate. I have a collection of reproduction vintage cards I enjoy displaying too. Never to many cards on Valentine's Day..........
