Time to Bring Out the Bunnies!

It's hard to believe Easter is almost here and I still don't have all the bunnies in place yet! (But I'm close!) I'd better get on it because we're expecting the family for Easter dinner and an egg hunt that day so I want it to look right!

That said, the house is looking pretty good, all things considered. The cupboard has a few cute touches.

Here's a closer look of an Anna Lee chick and sweet felted bunny by one of my French chromas.

A few metal bunnies, more chromas.

And finally, Peter Rabbit and company!

The mantel is laden with bunny favorites.

Here's a closer look at a couple of those.

They look comfortable in the "garden" of the wisteria in Wally Parshall's photo.

The top of the china cabinet holds a few old friends too. I took the photo of the mission at San Juan Capistrano years ago. I'd had it stashed behind the door in the guest room and it practically fell when I closed the door, saying "Hang me!"

It is flanked on one side by my friend Dick Hill's painting, some flowers and of course, another bun!

On the other, more bunnies and my Vintage by Crystal bunny-rider.

Here's a closer look.

In the family room, a little pink to go with my Cotswolds photo. If I get to it, the egg tree will go here, too.

And more spring in the kitchen, with this sweet English teapot, accompanied by a little lamb and some faux roses.

An Emma Bridgewater jam jar is filled with faux lily of the valley -- it's too early for the real deal!

The Pendelfin bunnies aren't up yet -- but they will be, probably before this actually gets posted. (We write when we get the time!) They'll look like this because they are going in the same spot!

This one is my favorite. I think.

So, get ready to party down!

Just be careful! May no one in your world enjoy so much Easter candy, they suffer Peter's fate!

(Speaking of which, have you tried Junior Mint Easter Eggs. Don't. You won't stop.)

  1. Hello Jeanie,

Happy April! Your Easter decorations, your card and the bunny collection look beautiful, very festive. I am sure your family will love the decorating and will love the Easter Egg hunt. I love the wisteria in the Parshall's photo. Have a wonderful weekend.

  3. I always love seeing your holiday decorations! The bunnies are so cute. I’d want to leave them out for months.

  4. You have a wonderful and sweet collection of rabbits. I couldn't pick a favorite but I'll bet you do. Favorites come from the experience of acquiring them as much as their visual look. I finally broke down and bought a rabbit at the dollar store to put by my front door.

  5. What a wonderful collection of Easter bunnies you have. Happy Easter and enjoy all your decorations

  6. Your storage area must be larger than my entire living space. I have a 918 sq. ft. apartment (my half of my duplex) and as much as I would like to decorate like you, I have no place to store things. My Christmas stuff fills all the top of one closet, out of the four in my house. I am so envious!

  7. Thank you for the warning and especially thank you for the Easter mood! You should be featured on the HOME channel for inspiration. That is quite a darling collection.

  9. I suppose after you get the first two, the bunny population takes care of itself! I hope the egg hunt goes well.

I just love all your bunnies especially the Pendelfin ones...I bought a Lot box full of them once but there were so darn heavy that I sold them to an antique dealer...I wish I would have kept a few though!!!
Thanks so much for all your visits!!
    Happy April!!

  16. I always love how you decorate for Easter. I still need to decorate my house, but it will never be as elaborate as yours. A simply charming kitchen and mantel are possibly my favorites. Happy Easter a bit early.

  18. Your bunnies are adorable! I hope you're planning some kind of scavenger/treasure hunt to make sure the grandkids find them all (name them?). And... you haven't deployed them all yet? Hard to believe...

Last, thanks for the heads-up about the Junior Mint easter eggs. Consider me forewarned!

  21. Junior Mint Easter Eggs, oh my, they sound Yummy! I loved seeing all the cute bunnies around your house, and thank you for sharing all the decorations, Jeanie. I didn't have a lot of blog friends sharing Easter decorations this year. I love the purple wisteria painting, as Purple is a main color I use for Easter. It looks so pretty above your mantel. I also like the bunnies with the daisies. Daisies remind me of my mom. The picture of Mission San Juan Capistrano is a special one. Is that a ladybug vase that the lily of the valley are in, so precious? And your Pendelfin bunnies make me smile every time. My favorite is the one with the ladybug too! Oh, I loved your cheerful post today, Jeanie. Your house is so charming with all your personal touches that are a part of you.

  29. You've got lots of bunnies and pretty art all around! Those jr mint eggs sound good. Mr. P. is sad because Brachs has discontinued his all-time favorite candy, the marshmallow creme-filled candy eggs (individually wrapped). Pure sugar!

  30. You really do have a houseful of cute bunnies, Jeanie, and sure they bring you joy. Looks like you will be ready for the holiday get together, atnleast as far as the decoratiins being done, now for dinner.

  31. Your bunnies are great. Talk about putting a smile on my face. I have a few spring bunnies out, but not my Easter decorations. Now that I’m going to be home this week I should put those out. I think you are ready for holiday even if no more get out. And I love seeing the other art too. Have a wonderful rest of your weekend. 😀hugs Erika

  32. Looks full of Easter joys. I'll be lucky to have Easter dinner ready on time - so far, all I have is the chocolate bunnies; I'll spend this week hunting down the lamb and dinner fixings. I feel the calendar ambushed me this year.

  33. So funny but not..Im not hosting this year so everyone is staying in the attic..apart from all my BP dishes and things that are always out:) And the wreath on the door.
When the first Littles arrived..I started decorating again..I LOVED it.Now they are young men.. and it's not here..so I have gone up there and told them to be patient until next year:) The decorations..Good for you and still doing for YOU:) I love that.

  41. I so love all of your bunnies. However according to Michigan Stare U. You are no longer allowed to say bunnies or even chicks or eggs. So stupid if you ask me. I will always say these words. BTW there are more words that have been objected to as well. Hope the Easter egg hunt goes well and Happy Easter! Janice

  46. I love how festive your house is! I have not done a thing for Easter... Life has felt really chaotic so I am woefully behind... In fact, we still have our Christmas planters and wreath out. But we have so much snow (just got 9" on Friday night) so it feels more like CHristmas than Easter... I get back Thursday and will need to figure something out for Easter baskets. But my MIL is hosting Easter and is very excited about that - and I am happy that someone else will be handling the meal and such. She has 54 eggs for the boys to find! So it's going to be a pretty epic egg hunt.

  50. You went full Swing into Easter, it looks so festive and Springlike. I am so far behind in decorating for any Holidays lately, the Main House has gotten to be chaotic due to multi-generations and their stuff now living here. I've not had success with Selling Easter Merch this Season and I had some really nice things for the Holiday. Your Anna Lee pieces are Adorable. I did get my Hot Cross Buns pre-ordered.

  51. Despite being the one without family photos, all your bunnies inspired me, and I went looking to see if I had a photo of my favorite Easter bunny. I do! I'll send it to you via email. I always got something "special" during our egg hunt, and that year I couldn't find my big present. Finally, I opened the oven door, and there he was! Such fun! I know you'll have just as much fun -- enjoy!
