If we've been lucky enough to visit Paris, we all have our favorite photos, right? These are a few of mine! This is a detail of the fabulous Chagall ceiling at the Opera Garnier.
And isn't its stage and proscenium impressive?
Of course, you can't be in Paris and not stop by the boulangerie! Baguette anyone?
And it would go all the better with a bottle of wine. Check out the selection at Le Bon Marche.
Or, perhaps you'd rather have champagne and olives at a cafe in Montmartre.
It will give you energy as you walk the area's hills.
And, if you can't make it, there's always the Montmartre cemetery!
Take in a classical concert or enjoy a stop for meditation at Sainte Chapelle.
Then enjoy a walk along the Seine.
Maybe even pick up a bloom or two at a market.
Or, stop by Musee d'Orsay and step back in time as you enjoy some beautiful art.
As night begins to fall, Paris shows its striking shapes and true colors. Deep pinks...
...Royal blue and gold...
...stark black and white...
...and inky blues reflecting the golden light of the city.
Sweet dreams!

Jeanie, your beautiful images of Paris brought back my lovely memories of the times spent in this magical city. I could sit for hours at a sidewalk cafe and just people watch. I hope that once again we will be able to travel!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! And a lovely vicarious treat -- especially since we are unlikely to get to visit any time soon...
ReplyDeleteNice photos and nice views of PAris. I think you caught the essence of the city. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteHello Jeanie: The pictures were obviously taken before Covid-19 affected life for all of us, but it makes you wonder what it does to the heart of a city like Paris, which is so oriented around the interaction of people on the streets, in cafés and so on. I am sure it is not a city that suffers lockdown well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Jeanie!
ReplyDeletebe well... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
I'll never make it to Paris but I enjoy the pictures. Wish they came with the scenes and smells of the city.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos! I dream about visiting Paris again! Thank you for this post.
ReplyDeleteOh so pretty . . .
ReplyDeleteSo much to see and do . . .
Wonderful photos of a fabulous town. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteA great review of the most wonderful city in the world.
ReplyDeleteWell, I think I should´ve waited 20 years longer before to go to Paris to enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteOh, the cat :-)
And, oh, beautiful at night. Thank you :-)
Wow!--so pretty! I love all the pictures especially the deep blue sky ones. Hope your holiday weekend was nice. Except for a couple walks, we stayed home. And ate good food! ha ha LOL
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Paris shown at it's very best. Let's hope the good times will come again soon. I have been told that many Parisians are fleeing the city and buying homes in the countryside because of covid 19 and the upheaval it has brought to the City of Lights.
ReplyDeleteHello Jeanie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tour of Paris. Lovely series of photos, you have wonderful memories of your trip! Enjoy your day, have a great new week!!

Amazing how well Paris did actually..I don't miss Paris one bit..but would happily live my whole life in Provence♥
ReplyDeleteThese are so beautiful! I would like some champagne and olives please.. and if I could have them in Montmartre that would be even better. :)
ReplyDeleteI love these glimpses of the city through your eyes - and that kitty just hanging out in the cemetery. :)
I love seeing your favorite photos of Paris. It is such a lovely city. I was lucky enough to spend a week there a few years ago.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photos, Jeanie. As you know, France is first on my list.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week!
Oh I miss travelling so much. Lovely shots.
ReplyDeleteThis post brings back memories Jeanie. Paris was so lovely to visit. I want to go back and visit Provence. Thanks for sharing your sweet photos.
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanie
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your photos of Paris! The night time cafe scene reminded me of a VanGogh painting. So beautiful! I miss traveling. Although I feel content that I traveled to many places there were still many more I wanted to see. I hope everyone does their part in helping to be socially responsible so we can defeat the virus and get our infection numbers down.
Oh, Jeanie. The colors and sights are magnificent and you captured them perfectly. What wonderful memories to have..Stay well..xxoJudy

ReplyDeleteThese are so beautiful, Jeanie. I can almost smell the baguettes., and a glass of wine to go with would be a good thing.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy these posts so I'll visit some of the other blogs taking part too. I've been 'dream' vacationing on my computer this weekend. I am SO ready to go somewhere...preferably on the water! Enjoy your week! Thanks for sharing your amazing photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jeanie!! During many hours of staying home or near to home, I find memories from past travels flashing often in my thoughts! I don't know if I'll ever be back to Paris, but how I love remembering the many vivid experiences and images from my 8 or 9 trips there. I remember the total amazement I felt at seeing that clock at Musée d'orsay...Your café scene reminds me of the famous Van Gogh painting...I was Sketchbook Wandering in Paris, that is for sure!!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I love seeing your photos.
This post makes me homesick for Paris! How I love that city. I love the signs for the metro, the sweet shops with their beautiful desserts, the farmers market stalls with varieties of olives or mussels or anything you can think of! And then of course the view of the Seine and all the bridges can’t be beat. There is so much to see in Paris!!
ReplyDeleteYour photos take me back to Paris. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteahhh, Jeannie, such a sweet little souvenir trip to Paris. Thank you, friend. Since we can't go in real life right now, your photos brought back heart warming memories. Here's praying we can all go back and sip a glass of champagne on the boulevards of Paris again soon! xoLidy
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos of beautiful moments!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great time walked along the Seine.
Jeanie, thank you for the lovely photos of Paris! Such a magical city of light and love. The sights and sounds of Paris bring back romantic thoughts of this wonderful city.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, esp love the one of Montmartre cemetery with the cat in the pic. Would that not be so sad if that was a family cat?
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed traveling abroad through this post, Jeanie, especially as it will be awhile since we will travel abroad. But should I get to Paris one day, I have some places to look foreard to seeing.😀
ReplyDeleteLovely memories of Paris Jeanie.
ReplyDeleteI have a similar photo of that window at the Musee D'Orsay, the only photo I managed to take inside the Museum.
Such great images, classic french memories for many of us. I have also valued the comments & sentiments shared here by your readers, jeanie. I too wonder, as david Gascoigne above has mused, how is paris fairing in covid lockdowns.. it is a city normally filled with the bustle of people.
ReplyDeleteI love your photos - for a minute there, I was back in Paris, walking the streets with you :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of the stage! Thanks for sharing your photos :-)
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful pictures of Paris that bring back a lot of memories. I haven't seen these particular Chagalls, but I did see the famous Chagall windows in the Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem - stunning! The colors are just unforgettable.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this wonderful visit down memory lane.
