Can Anyone Help Blogger David?

One of my favorite blogs is David Gascoigne's "Travel with Birds." David and his wife, Miriam, produce some of the most remarkable photos and interesting commentary related to birds through their birdwatching walks. David also will periodically review new books related to nature.

(All of the photos in this post are mine -- and they pale in comparison to the beautiful floral paintings in the book!)

He recently posted his current review -- "The Gardener's Botanical." If you have seen the post, you will be, as I was, enchanted by the splendid illustrations featured in the book. And, if you are a gardener or have a special love for all in the garden, you will find it an intriguing offering as well.

But David has a problem. He posted the link in blogger's reader feed. And it just doesn't show up. He's not quite sure what's wrong and neither am I.

But if you already follow David and use blogger reader as your blog-following source, you're missing one heck of a great post.

So, I thought I'd give it a shout-out here. You can visit this post right HERE. And I hope you do! (And if you don't visit David regularly and have a passion for birds, check out other posts on his feed while you're there. Quite remarkable!)

And if you can help him out, leave a message on his blog or here because this could be something that could happen to any of us.

(Oh, I do need the color of all these blooms!)

  1. Going off to visit him . . .
First though, the color he captures,
(like one almost at the end of your post Jeanie)
    is stunning. Red, yellow green . . . a tulip I think!
Thank you for sending him our way.
I do not follow him but I have seen his comments here and there
I hope he finds a solution to his “glitch!”

  3. Hello, Jeanie

I was sure I saw David's blog updated on my blog list. It was a nice book review. Your flowers and photos are gorgeous. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!

  4. Thanks for the note, Jeanie. That post did show up in my RSS feed reader, so it's a Blogger glitch, for sure. You need to tell him how to let people subscribe by email. That's a real help for those of us not on Blogger.

  5. Jeanne, I was not familiar with David but I'm so glad to find him!! You know the same thing happened to me when I was blogging. For me at Poofing the Pillows, the blog was not pinging correctly to the RSS feed. There's a way to check in RSS feed to see if your blog is pinging. You might let him know that. When the ping isn't working, none of the feeds update to show that you've posted a new blog post.

  7. I'm familiar with David's beautiful photography but had not seen this book review. I went over to visit and have to thank you for sending me in that direction. Happy Monday!

  8. I'm having the same, exact problem as David. My latest post is not updating in anyone's blog roll. I went to Blogger's so-called Help forum and posted a question asking how to fix the problem but no one has answered. I've googled the problem and found nothing. This happened about two years ago but I can't remember how it got fixed. But I'm relieved to know I'm not the only one. If anyone figures it out, please pop over to my blog and leave a comment on any post!!!!

  9. It worked here, Jeanie! Your photos are exquisite!!!!!!
You are such a kind and enthusiastic person. Your note on my blog made me so happy!! It might have said more about your passion, than about my art, but in any case, Thank You for your responsiveness! And now, on to catch up on a few more of your posts. I've been away for too long!!

  13. Your images are stunning Jeanie. I'm off to visit David's blog after my visit with you. I've had this problem with my posts not showing up in blogger reader. It sometimes takes hours. My friend Linda at Life and Linda knows everything about blogging and blogger problems if David wants assistance. Happy week......

  17. I believe I've been to David's blog in the past. Sorry to hear about the problem he's having. Guess that's why I don't use an RSS feed. I hope he gets this straightened out soon. It appears someone had the answer, so I hope David was able to see it.

I love your photos. They are both beautiful and colorful. I really, really, really love the close-ups.

  18. look at that rid brim on the petal. Nature is beautiful. Wonder why there are few in this world who want to destroy it.

  20. I am not techno savvy, so sorry I cannot help, but will suggest does this have anything to do with the new Blogger they keep trying to make me switch to? Probably not, but just in cases.

  29. beautiful beautiful flower pictures, love them! Such pretty colors. I enjoyed the previous post as well, the pretty storefronts! Hope your week has started off well. Hubby has been out digging and getting ready the flower beds for the soon spring plantings. And we've been busy picking out seeds and bulbs for summer.

  31. Jeanie, that book is beautiful. I don't follow David and couldn't give my advice as to what his problem is, as you well know, I am lucky to just get my blog typed, as I don't understand any of this stuff. Linda at Life and Linda did a post about the new blogger, maybe that would be helpful to him?? But I do know that your photos are absolutely beautiful. I could just reach and pick those gorgeous flowers off the page..xxoJudy
