Before the month gets a little too crazy, I thought I'd wrap up September. It was a month filled with road trips to the lake.
Home repair on the cottage.
Running into an old friend and former work colleague while picking up Rick from his Lansing to Mackinac bike ride.
Picking up a rider all in one piece!
Good dinners on the porch.
Progress.
Pretty flowers.
Signs of fall.
New wreaths.
Baking.
Pretty stamps. Magical...
...and thoughtful.
Planning!
And a little more work to do!
(Not to mention decorating for fall -- but that's for another day!)
Ohhh, those green eyes!
ReplyDeleteMust be wonderful to meet a former colleague and friend!
Such healthy food! Since off meds my body just wanted junk ;-)
So England/London it is! Last time I was 19! Happy planning!
Ooooh, that baking!!! Love your cottage pictures... Happy Fall! almost.
ReplyDeleteWrapping up September! For me it's barely begun. But you've done a lot so far, and I hope it goes well for the rest of the month.

ReplyDeleteI have so enjoyed your cottage adventures this summer, Jeanie. I wonder if you have closed the cottage for this year? Looks as though you have an exciting trip planned and I think Rick Steves is the perfect planning partner.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you did this, Jeanie. It was a good month. :)
ReplyDeleteYou sure know how to pack a lot into a half of September. Do you ever go on bike rides with Rick? Love your baked goods and planning books.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyable review of the first part of the month. Good photos of good times (well, maybe home repairs weren't that much fun).
ReplyDeleteI love the blue trim around the windows.
ReplyDeleteThe food looks pretty good too:)
Oh, those windows are wonderful! Wish I could get so motivated. I always think blue and yellow is a lovely combination. And looks like you'll be well prepared for your trip!
ReplyDeleteThat seems like a full summer! And London? What a glorious place. I lived there for a semester as a college student, and I have so many wonderful memories.
ReplyDeleteHow does the cat cope with travelling? One of mine foams at the mouth just going down the road to see the V.E.T.! :D
ReplyDeleteThe cat's my favourite.
ReplyDeleteNo one should look quite as fit as your “cyclist in one piece” does. Should be against the law!
ReplyDeleteFull summer days . . .
ReplyDeletewith flowers, paint jobs, friends, bike trips, London Town planning, veggie meals,
baking sweets to add to the cottage time treats,
It has been a great summer hasn’t it . . . for you Jeanie!
You are having a glorious month. All kinds of things I'd love to be doing so reading your post was quite a joy. September is a fantastic month, isn't it? And planning a trip is one of the most fun things. I'm planning a smaller trip for February and although it's not London and Paris, but the planning is exciting. Enjoy. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteA great month! London - a favorite destination of mine.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a very nice September, Jeanie. Your cat's eyes are so pretty. That's a charming picture of Rick working on repairs at the cottage. And that dessert looks Yummy. I always ask to see the choice of stamps before I buy any - there's so many different ones out now. I look forward to seeing your Fall decorating. : )

Jeanie! It looks like you have had a busy time of it as summer wanes into Fall! I love that Rick is so intent on his cycling -I know it is a healthy exercise and glad that he can do it.
ReplyDeleteFall decorating can wait a bit-enjoy these last few nice warm days. xo Diana
Jeanie, you have packed a lot into a short time. I haven’t started fall decorating, it is still hot here. I know you have preparation for your upcoming trip! The dessert looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great way to keep a journal. I love all the photos you shared of your time at the lake and your baking. wonderful post filled with forward thinking while looking back.
ReplyDeleteA lot was done in just half a month!
ReplyDeleteI can see a trip to England in the cards...
Happy planning Jeanie.
Jeannie, I knew you were going to Paris but somehow missed that you were going to London also. Can't wait to see you itinerary and see your travel posts.
ReplyDeleteI am so behind on posting our travel adventures.
Did you fit all that in to this month already? Or did you mean August?
ReplyDeleteEither way, it sounds like you've been having a wonderful time, with plenty more wonderful things to come.
Oh happy days indeed with lots more to come, with all that planning your London trip will be amazing. I'm joining you for lots of positive thoughts for optimal health to put all concerns regarding your foot & mouth (ouch that sounds like some cattle disease!) hey hopefully that made you grin & I'm not leaving you thinking I was terribly insensitive :) Anyway here's to the best holiday ever
ReplyDeleteWren xx
Hello, you had a busy but fun month! I enjoyed a trip to London back in 1985, it is a great city. The tart looks delicious. Cute shot of your kitty. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteJeanie, Working is something we all have when we own a home. It's always something needed fixed, mended, recycled...you name it. Your hubs stays in shape riding that bike. I love that you can eat on the porch. It is really slipping into fall. Blessings to all, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteSummer's end makes me sad and it certainly is busy. I love you are getting a lot of lake time and enjoying all the fun it brings, flowers, sharing delicious meals and getting in a little or a lot of work prepping for winter. It makes me sad to see all the wonders of summer end but so much to look forward to with fall and the holidays. Fall is the best time to enjoy being outside here, when the heat and humidity are gone. Lots to do then! I loved seeing your happy smile with you bumped into an old friend and love the kitty pic. She's so good about the cage. My sister's cats freak with the cage comes out.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
Love the summer's harvest meal spread...beautiful, healthy and delicious...just what summer is all about.
ReplyDeleteBusy with so many wonderful things! London, what fun! I'm visiting my daughter in Cali and so glad to spend some time with her.
ReplyDeleteWhat a special way to reminisce on September. Rick Steves is the best for planning travel. Glad Rick made the bike trip safely. Meeting friends and time at the cabin would be the very best. Oh the adventures of life when savored can be so special.
ReplyDeleteI just love the blue trim on the cottage-- so pretty! Thanks for the sweet and caring comments--- and the only reason i was able to to our and get those pictures is because i was ALREADY PACKED and ready-- we knew we werent staying! Lol
ReplyDeleteSeptember is such an ABUNDANT month... and glad yours is, Jeanie! Thank you for sharing this "chocolate box" of delights with us... LOVE seeing your stack of travel books and maps... so excited for you about your trip soon--HOORAY!! It's looking good there at the cottage... and can't wait to see all your autumn decorating!! :))) Happy DAYS ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteYou've had a busy month so far! I enjoy planning trips. ;P
ReplyDeleteLovely cottage photos! So cute!
I love your shares of everyday life. I'm ready for flowers and baked goodies. Let's sit at your table and chat.
ReplyDeleteIt's the simple things in life that make it all so worth it!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it’s been a pretty terrific month. And you’ll cap it off with a really wonderful trip. I can’t wait to live vicariously through you! I hope your foot is feeling much much better so you can do lots of walking without much pain!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great month. I love how busy and on the move you two always are.
ReplyDeleteI like your September wrap up, and lovely photos. I have made a start on tidying up the garden for winter. Your baking looks delicious, I'm guessing it's an apple tart. I'm collecting blackberries when I walk the dogs. I freeze them then I'm going to make a load of blackberry and apple pies and crumbles, and maybe a strudel! :-)
