Sometimes a girl has to decorate -- and in my case, that time is now!
Use it or lose it, I say, and so I totally overdo, given my small space.
And mostly I don't care.
I love the warm, autumn colors, which work well in my home.
It's fun to change up the mantle with every season.
I can't resist pulling out the copper and the leaves...
This doll makes an appearance every year, made by friend and artist Joanne Huffman.
It's time to charge up my battery branches and add some pumpkins...
Even the cotton wreath gets a makeover with a burlap bow.
Yes, berries and wreaths are everywhere!
Black cats, too.
There must be some jolly in the kitchen...
...and maxing out the Halloweenies!
Baskets get filled with gourds...
... and more gourds!
...the copper candelabra gets Jack be Littles...
...the hydrangea wreath makes a reappearance...
...and so does the Southern Exposure wall sconce from a year or two ago.
A freebie pitcher (left behind when one of Rick's tenants moved out) is loaded with dried hydrangeas and a cabbage blossom.
The Halloween tree brightens up a dark corner...
...and a raven stands guard!
I love my Wizard of Oz people -- aren't they happy and ready for the holiday?
Now I think I'd better start setting the table -- dinner will be ready soon...
And I have some shopping to do! Purr...
Happy to link this week to: Share Your Cup, Share Your Style, Happiness is Homemade, and Pink Saturday.
Your house really looks festive with all the Autumn goodies, Jeanie. I love your fireplace - it reminds me of my mom's brick fireplace. I think my favorite on here is the copper lantern. And I'm still looking at your doll wondering if her face is painted on or is it a picture? I love that green tray in the kitchen. That looks like milk glass to me. And your lit-up tree is magical. What a fun post, Jeanie.

What a lot of wonderful decorations you have, your place looks fabulous. Have a fun Halloween season! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteWhat fun you had decorating and turning your home into a Halloween haven. I remember the cotton wreath made at Southern Exposure, and I remember seeing other pieces of art, too. You did an excellent job and puts my puny decorations to shame. I'm so glad you shared your home with us so I have some Halloween inspiration.
ReplyDeleteWow! That's VERY impressive - very warm; shouldn't it be a tad creepy?! Love the Wizard of Oz folk. Things are much more low-key over here... there's a post about the origins of Halloween on A Bit About Britain, if you're interested - go to the blog page.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great Jeanie. If it makes you happy, then go for it. :) Your house seems to like the colors of fall. Mine does too. My big problem is I can't find a box of decorations I have. Oh no! So the mantle got done but my little Halloween tree is empty because I can't find anything to hang on it. How frustrating! So anyhow, I am really enjoying your decorating. Love your collection! Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI love the hydrangea wreath, Jeanie. I also think the Wizard of Oz gang is adorable. I always marvel at how much décor you have! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI love the festive feel decorations give a home. I love your touches, especially to the mantle. Your home looks so cozy with all the fall colors of berries and wreaths. I love your fireplace with it's arch, gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt's all beautiful! And, I'm honored my doll has a spot. I love how you emrace and decorate for holidays.
ReplyDeleteThat's the spirit! Looks like you're settling in very well back at the ranch, so to speak. It's so fun to play with our stuff when the mood strikes, isn't it?!
ReplyDeleteHello, wonderful collection of decorations. Everything looks beautiful and festive. I like your mantle and fireplace. The Wizard of Oz figurines are so cute. Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI love your Halloween WOO peeps..all ofyour dolls..I remember Googling them last yr when I first met them..Great collection..never lose your joie de vivre!
ReplyDeleteIt's all so festive! I love those skinny leg people...I always forget what they are called. :)
ReplyDeleteI think that black cat at the end is a purse, yes? No matter what it is, I love it. Who says black cats are bad?
ReplyDeleteWe all have our weaknesses and your decorations look very homey.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I love that you put it all out and are ready for Halloween now. I love the colors of fall and Halloween but I don't decorate my house in those colors, I mean I do for fall and Halloween but its not a color I use in the house the other times.
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanie. I just love it when people get into the spirit and decorate for the season. It is hard to believe that we are nearing the end of October and that Halloween is next on the agenda. I hope you enjoy this glorious season as much as I do.
ReplyDeleteWhat cute decorations! I love the warm colors of Fall. It's a nice change in my home after the Spring and Summer greens and blues. Your Wizard of OZ figures are so so cute! I love whimsical and that's what you do so well!n Hugs!
ReplyDeleteAnother Lori Mitchell affectionado! YAY!!!
ReplyDeleteJeanie. I love all your decor. The warm colors make for such a warm and cozy environment. Your Wizard of Oz people are too cute! Love it all!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness I love what you've done decorating. Since we have become empty nesters I have completely stopped decorating for anything other than Christmas, and even that has been limited to the extent that I gave quite a bit of my decorations to my daughter, who has 2 small children.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had the energy and enthusiasm that you do! This is absolutely lovely! Despite the fact that I live in south Florida where fall is non-existent, I grew up in Maryland and fall remains my favorite season!
Very festive-you've mixed fall and Halloween so well! The Oz people are darling and I'm a sucker for black cats!! Well done, Jeanie!
ReplyDeleteJane
Your decorations are wonderful. I like the mix of different objects.
ReplyDeleteJoan
The springs on the cat are a great idea!
ReplyDeleteWow! You DO go all out! Do you have a lot of boxes and shelves to store your decorations in the off seasons? It all looks very cute!
ReplyDeleteYour home looks great. I love decorating also, but I didn't do much this year. It's getting to hard to climb around LOL.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing - looks great!
Hugs,
Mary
I love, love your enthusiasm for decorating for the seasons. What fun to see each and every thing. Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteYour decor looks so pretty, Jeanie. And your fireplace looks so cozy and inviting :)
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful autumn decorations bought a smile to my face Jeanie, your home looks warm and inviting. Your wreaths and sconce are gorgeous, the hydrangea is my favourite, oh and your Wizard of Oz people, I love them, that is one of my favourite films. Halloween wasn’t really celebrated over here in the UK until a few years ago, it’s starting to catch up now.
ReplyDeleteI love how festive your home looks for every season! You are so great about changing out the decor for each holiday and season. That's something I want to work towards eventually! Maybe in our next house! Right now we are in decluttering and purging mode because we are having listing photos taken next month so that we can put our house on the market as soon as we find a house to buy! But when we get into our next home, I want to work on building up my holiday decorations - especially since we'll have a little one which will make the holidays all the more fun and exciting!
ReplyDeleteJeanie, Wow, you have quite a bit of Halloween decor and I just love how you've decorated with some of them. I really like that pumpkin jack-in-the-box! Just wondering if that's been in your family or was it a lucky find?
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteAdorable Halloween decorations!
Looks great!!! I love it all. I have very little Halloween decor. And I'm becoming a minimalist in my "after flood life". Ha! We shall see how long that lasts.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it's such a fun season to decorate for! Course, I love decorating for any season. :) It all looks wonderful. I especially love your cats and that raven! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
