Thanks for coming by! I love your comments and will answer do my best reply directly with email if your address is included. I will not publish malicious or spam-like robo-comments so if you are coming in as anonymous or unknown, please ID yourself with your name and or contact info. I tend to avoid conflict. I know not everyone agrees with me on issues or I with them and I will probably not get into an argument with you. Your photos are so lovely. It is a year since I was last in Paris, and I am desperate to go again! Doorways are so attractive, aren't they? -- all that symmetry and all that potential.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this tribute to beautiful doors and entryways, Jeanie... I can't wait for another taste of Paris... *swoon* :o) Happy Days ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteLOVE THIS. I might need to try to link up and play along as you know I am ALWAYS happy to talk about France!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of which, I have made a kind of crazy decision... I have decided to go to Paris for Thanksgiving!!! I feel a little bit irresponsible doing this, knowing I likely have a cross country move ahead of me next year (which will be expensive) but I also feel like I have earned it. It will either be a CFA celebratory trip, or in the event I don't pass, it will be a last hurrah before I start studying again. I emailed the guy I rented an apartment from last time and the 2 apartments I am interested in in the Latin Quarter are available. :) So I might be staying just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Shakespeare & Co! :)
Ah - here we are, in the season of jealousy again as I stand like an urchin at the door and eavesdrop on all you lucky ones talk about being in Paris! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI do love doors, and this is a marvelous collection. The funny thing is, I recognized Shakespeare and Co. before I read the sign above the door. I have been lurking around these Parisian blogs for a while, haven't I?
We did have a record-breaking 107 in Houston this weekend and 105 here at my place. Everyone was in-doors, I want you to know!
I think the doors were marvels for me too when I last visited Paris in 2010. But I haven't got such an extensive collection of photos on just doors. Thanks for these wonderful pics, Jeanie. Haven't thought of participating this year, but you sure have piqued my interest all over again with this post about this annual Paris in July blogging event.
ReplyDeleteOh, these are wonderful. Wish I had a croissant to eat while I go back and look at them again.
ReplyDeleteLoved your photos of doors! Reminds me of a postcard I bought once that consisted of nothing but doors in Exmouth. I loved the variety of door colors and styles :) I'm looking forward to your post on the inside of a Parisian apartment.
ReplyDeleteSorry I've been so absent recently but I think I'm back now. And just in time to enjoy all these beautiful doors. It may be overkill but I still enjoy them every time.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love photos of doors, but I didn't grab nearly this many in Paris. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThere just can't be too many door photos. These are all charming and make me want to go to Paris,
ReplyDeleteWell these door I find fascinating . I am enamoured with the structures and I like the round tops ....cats meow for me. !
ReplyDeleteOh Jeanie.....such beautiful photos. I've been to Paris....but not in July........went in April.....such beauty.

wonderful doors Jeanie...I find they speak to me on many levels...we took quite a few snaps of them on our Britain and Ireland tour actually ;)
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to more Paris posts and pics this month!
Hope you are doing well and had a good June

Now I must go visiting. Love the doors in Paris and I think I recognized one of them. The fragrances of that shop I am thrilled I can get in my city, as I love, love them. Thanks for the memories.
ReplyDeletei love pics of doors. I don't know why. Maybe it's the mystery of what's behind them.
ReplyDeleteah, very cool!
ReplyDeleteI also did 2 posts on French doors, some time ago:

and

Oh, I could never get enough, never overkill when it comes to doors for me. LOVE THEM. I think they're even more special when shown individually vs grouped because each has a story, or typically a question for me.
ReplyDeleteI'm taking a much needed blogging leave that I've fought FOREVER, but I will continue to visit with friends.
Hope you had a great 4th, Jeanie.

Wonderful doors in all their variety, I love taking "door" pictures too. I think my favourite doors are very very old ones, with the marks of hundreds of years on them. Your very first one ticks my boxes.

ReplyDeleteI loved all the different entrances - but that treat is what really makes my heart beat faster. Yummy!
ReplyDeleteAll these charming doors are making me homesick for our own French door! I do miss living there - mostly it's the food! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post. I love the doors of Paris too, and photographed quite a few of them on each visit.
ReplyDeleteParisian doors really convey classic and beauty. You will certainly be drawn to these doors no matter what. Modern doors in Paris still resemble those from the Renaissance era, which is why even if decades and centuries have passed, you can still feel the presence of history in the city. People don’t forget about the times gone by because they still value Paris’ old setup.
