Happy Birthday, Pink Saturday!

This is Alice, the party girl (she has diamonds on the soles of her shoes, but unfortunately, you can't see them!)
She, The Marmelade Gypsy and I wish a happy one year birthday/anniversary to Beverly and her Pink Saturday posts!

Don't forget -- today is the last day to enter my drawing for a beautiful crystal similar to this one. Your comments will be entered into the drawing!

  1. I LOVE Alice.... so I'm looking at her and looking at her and wondering, "did Jeanie make her?" and then I recognize the star paper - the same paper you shared with me in your gift pack!!!! Thsi is a lovely ATC. Maybe it's the hair, I don't know. Yay, weekend! (wonder what else you'll be making?)

  4. With our little PINK SATURDAY having a birthday this week, I am on "pink overload" and that is difficult to do to me! I'm lovin' it like crazy!

What lovely pinks this week you have, my dear. The better to see your through my rose colored glasses!☺

Have a great weekend. Not all that warm up in my neck of the woods but the sun is out and that makes the day good. I hope you are surrounded by those you love and that you, too, are bathed in sunshine.

  8. Diamonds are a girls best friend, right? How cute, and how neat for Beverly to have a year of pink Saturdays!

  9. Would have loved to see Alcie's diamonds in her soles :-) but then again, I can see lots of sparkly gems on her hat and gems! :-)

    Happy PS!

  10. Finally getting caught up after weeks of long days on the dock - the long days aren't over, but I'll have a fresh start this week!

I've just listened for the fourth time to Paul Simon's version of Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes from the Zimbabwe concert. I've been impelled back to Africa for a number of reasons recently, and this is just one more reminder: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OafqYNCzq5U (I'm never sure how these links are going to show up in blogger. Feel free to edit or remove!)

Simon's version is so alive, with its echoes of the Kusum beat from West Africa and the amazing relevance of the context - South Africa diamond mines, and all the pain and exploitation involved with that.

A wonderful, evocative post. Thanks for helping to refocus my attention just a little more!

  13. Jeanie, Happy Pink Saturday. As you can see, I am still visiting from last Saturday. Thank you for making Saturdays special.

But, even though I am leaving this message with tears flowing, I am glad I was late getting here so I can share in your Patricia. Thank you for sharing this part of your heart.
