Ambling through Old Photo Files: Autumn Images

Among the things I did to amuse myself during my (very cold) few days at the lake in early September while Rick was still on his cycling journey, was go through old photos on my computer and take a look at some I'd forgotten. I wanted to finish this post during my most recent visit -- but with no computer, it had to wait. But now, the first of several collections to pop up here in the future -- "Fall Favorites."

Good photographers become great photographers in the fall. Mother Earth sure likes to show off this time of the year, doesn't she. Looking forward to your next batch of fall photos.

we generally get the yellow, brown and orange, not so much with the red and in between the yellow, orange or orange to red. I always said I wanted to enjoy the New England states fall but hey, Michigan is looking amazing all on its own. Maybe a trip there one day. Beautiful

What a cornucopia of fall color! Gorgeous photos, Jeanie. Made me nostalgic for the events you once attended at Southern Exposure. Is it still offering classes, dinners, etc.? A cursory google search didn't come up with much.

The season is so quick and so short that it is worth lingering over previous photos.

Oh Jeanie! Even when I was still in the Philippines, your blog is always a haven for lovely Autumn photos! I have never experienced it ever until two years before when I went to Madrid for the first time and saw all the beautiful colors (here in Barcelona they only turk from green to brown) but you showcase all different vibrant colors and I thank you for it! At the 22nd of September the temperature here just dropped 7 degrees on both high and low, it was like a switch haha! Stay lovely and warm Jeanie!

Jeanie, what gorgeous shots of fall in Michigan. Wowsa. Definitely my favorite time of year. Of course, fall comes later here in the Deep South. I was able to get a fall groove by visiting the Finger Lakes recently. The leaves were just turning and the weather was divine (cool morning, warm nights, cool nights).
Cheers.

I'm awash in envy. I try so hard to appreciate our Texas autumn, but I still long for those crisp, colorful midwestern days. Enjoy every one of them -- some in retrospect, and some still to come!
