Loads of photos here, not a lot of commentary.
The trees couldn't have been more beautiful, their last burst before the blooms drop and the leaves emerge.
As you can tell, this is my buddy, Harry!
He was having quite a grand fishing day!
During the time I watched him, he nailed several fish!
Down the hatch!
Checking out the fishing with his eagle heron eye!
And the catch was worth the wait!
Walking on a breezy day at the tail end of blossom time is like walking in a fragrant snow shower!
And, at home, Bunny Number 17!
It has been a banner year for the bunnies!
Some of you may have heard about the tornado in Gaylord, MI, last week, which is where our cottage is and where Rick was at the time. Thanks for your inquiries as to whether or not he was OK (he was and so was the cottage; the town, about five miles north, had a lot of damage).
We are very grateful. Have a wonderful week!

Your photos are fabulous! I'm glad to hear Rick and the cottage are safe. Do you feel like "What's next?" It seems like there is crazy weather all over the US.
AWESOME pix of Harry!! What a beautiful place ~
Beautiful! They say we have herons on our lake. Thanks for reminding me I need to walk down and see them.
Beautiful nature photos Jeanie. Harry is as handsome as ever!
I am sorry to hear the tornado damaged the town where your cottage is. I hope no one was hurt. We take cover 2- 3 times a year for tornadoes but luckily there hasn't been any serious damage near us.
Your rabbit reminds me of -Bigwig is the tritagonist of Watership Down. He is a strong rabbit known for the tuft of hair on his head from which his Lapine name, Thlayli (literally translating to "fur-head"), is derived.
Except your rabbit is less of a thug!
Harry's photos are prize winners, how lucky to be there with him at lunchtime! Great shots!
Gaylord is a funny name every time- sorry it got in the way of a mighty wind!
I would love to travel like you do!
Beautiful photos! I am so glad to hear your cottage and Rick are ok. I am so sorry for the devastation in Gaylord!
I am sharing a picture of the lake I grew up on in Michigan, along with a new painting. Come visit!
Hello Jeanie,
I am glad the tornado missed your lake house and Rick, it is always sad to see the damage left in the path. Beautiful captures of Harry the heron. He is good at fishing. Pretty blossoms. Love the cute bunny too. Take care, have a great day and happy new week!
What an exciting walk! and you got such good photos!
I'm glad your cottage (and so Rick :) ) escaped damage but am sorry about the town. It can take so long to recover from storm damage :( I trust they have a plan that will get them back to normal in no time :)
I'm so glad you have a peaceful place to walk, Jeanie. That's important. That trail of blossoms is lovely You got one of Harry catching a fish! I like the look of his feathery back. Looks like a coat haha. And the pink blossoms always make me smile. They certainly say "Spring is here." It's always delightful to see a bunny too. So glad Rick was Ok with the tornado, and I'm sorry some of the town had damage. Those tornados are scary.

Beautiful pictures. Glad Rick and cottage are all right. Prayers for your health continue
So glad that you could get out and take photos of wildlife and blossom. The watery scenes are picturesque. Harry is a handsome heron doing what comes naturally. It's an interesting series of action photos. So glad that Rick is safe although the hurricane must have caused havoc. Take care dear blog friend.
Love all your photos! You have a steady hand. Glad that the cottage is intact.
Harry is a handsome heron and a good fisher! Loved all your photos of him!
I did not realize your cottage was so close to where the tornado hit! Glad Rick was OK! Does that area often get tornadoes?
The weather this spring has been so unusual everywhere. We had snow which melted next day and we're grateful for the moisture as it has been bone dry and fire scary.
So glad you are both OK! Mother Nature can sure deal some blows. We are getting much needed rain today, and I am trying to hibernate. Just back from the dentist, as I chipped a tooth and had to let him take a look. It can wait a bit, good thing as his next appt was the day before my brother in law's wedding, and I don't want to miss that!
I'm not sure I like Harry as a fish catcher. I do prefer the frightened looking
Bunny. (She might have sensed the approaching tornado).
So glad Rick is okay. Those photos are amazing. The first one would make a glorious painting. Wink. Wink.
What glorious photos!
One thing you can say in favor of tornadoes is that they are extremely localized, unlike earthquakes and hurricanes! I'm glad your cottage is safe, and above all that Rick is OK.

Wow! These are just amazing photos. Thanks for sharing them with us.
Herons are fascinating birds. Cute bunny.
We had a significant storm blow through here on Saturday that did some damage.
It's nice to see Harry is doing well. Love the bunny photos. I'm also so pleased to hear Rick is safe and sound and so is your cottage. I'm saying a little prayer for the people who did experience the tornado.
Thanks for letting us know that Rick and the cottage are both OK after the MI tornadoes as I had wondered if you had suffered any injuries/damages. Looks like harry was having a great day fishing and always enjoy seeing the bunnies at this time of year.
I wish I had such a beautiful place to walk, Jeanie. Love all the photos, but have to say the first one is just breathtaking.
I am glad to know Rick is safe. You take care, dear friend.
blessings,
Penny
You sure did get some great pictures of Harry. He is elegant <3
Jeanie,
What beautiful photos!! So glad that you were nor personally affected by the tornado...It is very scary though. A few years ago, my home was nearly missed by one that destroyed most of the shopping center right next to us.... Thanks so much for stopping by!! Glad that you enjoyed the first post about my Tea Room in the Dining Room..I just did another post n it...
Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
Hugs,
Debbie
It's only right that once in a while Harry gets top billing! Glad that the cottage survived the storm, Jeanie. There was a damaging storm in Kitchener-Waterloo a couple of days ago with a great deal of damage. We are on the way home from Atlantic Canada, so we hope all is well at our house. We will see later today!
Beautiful pictures of the ditch and animals. Such a gorgeous day. 😍🌸🌸🐇🐧🐥
These are wonderful. My favourite is the heron!
(ツ) from Cottage Country Ontario , ON, Canada!
I see a few paintings here…
Here also QC and Ontario a lot of damage.
We are fine.
Hope all is well there.
Beautiful pictures of the Heron. Do you have a veggie garden? then bunnies would make quick work of it.
so glad he is safe along with your cottage from the tornado. such a scary thing.
cathy
Jeanie, these photos are spectacular! I must be reading your posts for awhile now, as I also see them as future paintings! :)
So glad all is well with Rick and the cottage.
Excellent "action shots" of Harry and his prey! I'm glad your cottage escaped the storm. We read about it even over here in the UK!
Beautiful photos, Jeanie! I’m still in full recovery mode so not much venturing outdoors for me yet. You, and someone else I know, have cottages around Gaylord. So glad Rick is OK. We leave tomorrow morning for Texas and just praying I’ll be great for our entire trip. Hope you’re doing well with your infusions and that you’re better soon.
Jeanie, I am so happy that Rick and your cottage were ok. We live where tornadoes are very active and are so very frightening. On a happy note,, your ditch photos are fabulous. It seems that Harry loves posing for you. Wishing you a wonderful day and hope you are feeling better!
Oh what fabulous shots of Mr. Heron! You're a whiz with the camera ... nature's creatures often don't want to hang around for a photoshoot, do they ...
Glad the cottage survived the storm and that Rick is okay. Wonderful pics from the ditch! Hugs, Valerie
Harry is looking good. He sure is a patient fisherman. Lots of catches for the day, it seems. I have bunnies in my garden this year. So far, they have dug up two pots. Not sure where they came from, but they used to hide in my bamboo. Now they raid the pots (grin).
I had not heard about the tornado, but I am glad the cottage at the lake and Rick are safe. The quirky nature of tornadoes. Glad all is well in your world.
Oh, my ... your photos are so gorgeous, Jeanie. And blessings your precious cottage and hubby were safe. The heron photos are outstanding, you might want to send one to Birds and Blooms, for sure!
I'm so glad Rick and the cottage were okay!
You caught some excellent photos of Harry--wow!
Have a marvelous week, Jeanie. :) :)
Beautiful photos. Very glad Rick and the cottage are ok.
Oh, Jeanie - so glad Rick and your cottage were safe. Tornados are such a scary thing. You absolutely must paint Harry - but I wouldn't want the select the photo as they are all wonderful of him and the lake.
Hope you can get to your cottage soon - be good to you and hope you are feeling better! Have a great week.
Gorgeous pictures, Jeanie -- you caught all the right moments on just the perfect day! I'm in awe of your Harry pics... those action shots are hard to get!
And I'm so glad to hear that your cottage (your respite, your haven, your creative touchstone) was spared during the tornado, and especially glad that Rick is OK. The pictures I've seen look terrible... and even if you're not directly affected by a storm like this, it can still be a difficult shock. Best to both of you...
Lovely trees and hi, Harry! Cute bunny, too.
A tornado sounds very scary. Sometimes I´m glad I live in boring Germany... Glad you´re all OK there!
Harry will be one happy heron if he catches fish like that every day. I will have to ask my sister if she is near that lake. So devastating though and glad Rick was ok too. janice
I'm always amazed by your photos of Harry with his fish. I rarely see one of ours with captured prey. It's probably a matter of timing, or it might be that the favored fishing spots are elsewhere. What I really envy are those bunnies. On the other hand, now I have two pair of mallards wandering around here. From the chasing and quacking, it's possible one or both of the pairs are going to be raising families soon!
Jeanie, so glad to hear you and Rick are safe. Storms are so scary. Harry is a star. I feel sorry for the fish. Bunny #17 is adorable. I love wildlife.
Beautiful flowering trees and Harry, that would have been more than enough. The bunny was like the cherry on the sundae. Hope the week is going well. hugs-Erika
I heard about the tornado, but I had no idea it was the same town where your lake cabin is! After having lived through one and cleaning-up from damage....it isn't fun. So thankful y'all were spared! We have bunnies and they are eating our drift roses! :/
That Harry is quite the fisherman model:)
So glad your cottage and Rick were OK and not hit by the tornado.
Love seeing Harry with the fish in his mouth. And oh those bunnies always melt my heart.
Good to go on this "walk" with you and see what you see, Jeanie!
I hope people are managing to put their lives back in Gaylord, and grateful that Rick was okay - and that the cottage was.
Beautiful post and Harry eat a lot of fish…love Rabbits …they are my favorite…I always had rabbits in my home…but since 10 years not anymore…I think Leaf do not like it …🙈🐾🙈 hahaha…happy week love from me Ria 🍀🍀🍀
I have actually been to Gaylord and spent I think two nights with friends. I remember taking a trip from there to sand dunes — sleeping giant, sleeping bear?
Happy to hear that with distraction so close by that all was well with Rick and the cottage.
I had not heard about the tornado. How scary. I am glad that Rick and your cottage were ok! That is too close for comfort!
The trees are flowering here, too, and it's just beautiful. I'd love to have an ornamental tree in our yard at some point. Maybe we will plant one some day. I went on a couple of walks when Paul was home sick. I asked what flowering tree he liked best and he told me he liked the dandelions best!! Go figure, the weed is the true beauty in the eyes of a 4yo.
Is this fellow a Great Blue Heron? I wish I knew more about birds. What a show he put on for you!
So glad Rick is safe.
Fabulous photos! Awesome heron out fishing.
I also like seeing everything so green!
Have a wonderful weekend my friend!
WOW! Your photographs are just fabulous, I did enjoy them all.
So pleased to read that Rick and the cottage are safe.
Take care.
All the best Jan
I'm glad you, Rick, and the cottage are safe. But sad for those who have damage or worse to deal with.
