Rick, Lizzie and I send you and yours Christmas greetings -- with a little help from Julie Andrews. (Cue the Music!)
And while you enjoy Julie's music, enjoy a look at a few of my Nativity creches.
Because, after all, the creche is really the symbol of how this holiday got started.
The one below and above was a gift from my friend Jacqie, who downsized when she moved. She remembered I liked it and I was honored and surprised when she gave it to me.
You've seen this one before -- a favorite.
Jesus seems to be missing from this one, but the decapitated shepherd's head served well enough in a pinch.
I love this small carved one I found at the East Lansing Art Festival years ago.
Here's another by the same artist.
And this one is just the three main characters but I love the rough hewn carving.
This one isn't mine (in fact, the next few aren't) -- but I wish they all were.
I love the white here. So pure looking.
And here.
And finally this one.
I leave you with Christmas greetings. And if you do not celebrate Christmas, then let me wish you a Happy Hanukkah, a Festive Festivus, a Super Solstice and MANY wishes for peace and good things during what I hope will be a Happy New Year.

You do have a lovely collection, Jeanie. We have adopted a European tradition in our village called Bambino, whereby the Christ Child goes from house to house for Advent. I know you would enjoy it.

You have a lovely collection of creches. Sending you and all your loved ones and family, a very Merry Christmas greeting.
The creches in this post were all beautiful, Jeanie, and I really think they show the true meaning of Christmas. We have only one set up in our apt home. The pieces are from my late mother's set which I used to replace ones I had that were then given away, The stable is from my original set as are some of the sheep and farm animals. It always warms my heart to see this combined set every Christmas. I am sure many of yours do the same for you. Merry Christmas to you and yours, my blog friend.
Thanks for sharing your Christmas decorations.
Merry Christmas 2019! Thanks the pics were amazing. Thanks so much for sharing this with me !! Fairlife
Thank you, Jeanie, wow, that is some wonderful artwork you have there!
A very Merry Christmas to you!
And also a thank you to your last words. Tolerance is not the norm these days! And peace is the best wish of all wishes.
The last is my favorite, because of its simplicity. I hope your Christmas is wonderful -- filled with simple pleasures, and love. Merry Christmas, my friend!
Merry Christmas, Jeanie, Rick, Lizzie, and the rest of your family (especially those baby grands of yours).
Merry Christmas!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas Jeanie. Your have quite a wonderful collection for nativity figures. They are all so beautiful. Hugs-Erika
Merry Christmas to you.
Beautiful nativities you have . . .
I too like the white . . . simple, soft, pure,
Merry Christmas Jeanie . . .
And may 2020 be a wonderful New Year for us all . . .
Jeanie, all the nativities are beautiful. I am especially fond of your small carved one, you found at the local Art Festival. It is especially pretty, to me. Hope you, Rick, Lizzie and family had a wonderful Christmas. Blessings to you in the New Year.
These are all so beautiful! My favorite are the wood-carved ones! I have a one-piece wood-carved one that I got at a Christmas market in Germany. It brings back good memories of that trip when I put it out each Christmas!
I hope you had a very Merry Christmas!!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas with those you love. Back several decades ago I had a little collection of nativities - from Mexico, the Caribbean, and Europe. Lovely photos!
Happy Christmas, Jeanie, and a Happy new Year!
A delight seeing all of the nativity scenes.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
All the best Jan

I hope you've had a wonderful Christmas. Hugs xx

What a beautiful creche collection. I use to have more, but narrowed it down to one simple one. I forgot to share that when I photographed my decorations. There are certainly some beautiful ones here.
What a wonderful collection of photos throughout the year! Happy new year to you Jeanie. May it be another one filled with love, experiences, health and happiness!
Jeanie, I have taken time away this week to just be present with my family. But, what a beautiful collection of Nativities, I love them all, and thank you for sharing them with us. I know your Christmas was magical with the baby grands!
That's a lot of creches.
So beautiful! How wonderful to have such a terrific collection. I only have two - but I'm out of room. LOL I love the one you were gifted - it's a beauty - and the scene in the glass 'house' is charming, as well. I'm a sucker for hand carved 'stuff!'
I am mad for your Mexican creche - and the decapitated shepherd suits my quirky sense of humor. I think you might enjoy two photos of nativity scenes which I do not own, but think are marvelous. They are the first two photos on this page: https://www.pinterest.com/tristanrobin/just-some-stuff-i-like/
As always, thanks for sharing (oh! I almost forgot - that white creche is a must-have! Stunning!) Hope the rest of the holiday is fantastic!
Hi Jeanie
It has been so long since I last signed on to my blog, the first thing I checked was a post from you. I have missed you, my friend.
2019 has been quite an interesting ride with moving at the end of 2018 and then enduring a renovation, then my daughter moved in and by the end of March we welcomed a new granddaughter. Then there was more work with gardens, a pool to look after (never owned a pool before) and altogether a much larger property. I had hoped to post before Christmas, but found myself down with a seasonal illness that has kept me under the weather for the past two weeks.
What can one do? I do hope to begin posting again very soon. It is a hope I have for 2020.
I do wish you a wonderful 2020.
All the best
Barbara
I wish you everything best for the New Year! Always be happy :)
