Eek! I've been seeing gloriously decorated autumn homes on blogs since September! Well, I'm almost done!
We'll take a quick look outside at this delightful birdhouse my cousin painted for me. There used to be lettuce growing in that pot!
Usually I start with the fall things, then add Halloween to it. It's easy to take out the Halloween in November and you're still pretty well decorated!
So, here's a look at the mantel in the family room with Joanne Huffman's sweet doll taking center stage, along with photographer Wally Parshall's gorgeous Paris photos. I know I should take them down for different seasons and maybe I will, but I usually can't bear to put them away!
They're joined by a collection of copper and brass from my mom, and some silky leaves.
On the opposite wall, I brought in my little Halloween tree.
This is one of two I have. It will go down in early November.
And of course the back door has a Southern Exposure project on it!
In the living room things are a little simpler. Cotton and leaves...
...more leaves on the chandelier, inspired by those Southern Exposure chandeliers...
...another of mom's copper pots filled with hydrangeas, courtesy of my wonderful massage therapist...
...and one with autumn leaves. (I'm so glad she loved copper, because I do too!)
There's a bit of action going on atop the china cabinet...
...and inside the hutch, too!
I have to say I'm awfully fond of this fellow. I'll miss him when the Halloweenies come down in November!
I did mention another tree. This is just a tiny feather tree in the living room.
Since I took the photo I added some tiny golden lights to it. I love that it shows off my mini-Radko ornaments so well. The lights next to it are grapevine balls. Maybe you saw them at Target Dollar Spot too!
Couldn't resist a new throw pillow. As you can see, I neglected to take Lizzie's seat protector off. Oh well.
Of course, in a few weeks, all the Halloween will head back to the basement and a turkey or two might emerge. The pumpkins, of course, and other gourds will remain till it's time to bring up Christmas.
But I want to enjoy this for a little while first!
Wouldn't you?

Hello Jeanie,
ReplyDeleteYour Autumn and Halloween decorations are so pretty. I love the tree and ornaments. The mantel, copper pots and Paris paintings are all lovely. I also love the hydrangeas and the pumpkin pillow. I do love the fall leaves and colors. Beautiful post. Happy Thursday, wishing you a great day!
Fall looks fun at your home!
ReplyDeleteYou do such a wonderful job decorating. Are you sure you're not an retired florist?
ReplyDeleteYour decorations are fabulous, so warm and welcoming. I'm ashamed to see I haven't decorated anything yet....perhaps next week. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and so welcoming Jeanie. I better get moving!
ReplyDelete❤️
ReplyDeleteYou must be happy there are not more seasons, Jeanie!
ReplyDeleteWell, I did get out my Mona LIsa winkie that alternates the real face with a skeleton when you move your head back and forth. Your incredible collection of decorations never disappoints me. I'm totally impressed.
ReplyDeletebest..... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
So pretty, and you sound like me, keep adding, tweak with and then remove the Hallowe'en so it keeps on right up until the Christmas decorations come out. I do love the last leaf photo, such colour!

Your house is so fun and festive! I love all the seasonal decor and it's nice that you can keep much of it up for the Thanksgiving season. I'm looking forward to amping up my holiday decor in the new house. We have a fireplace mantel so that will be my focus initially and I'll add to it each year! My first priority will be our window boxes since those are visible from the street! I'll start off with winter/christmas decor as we move into the new house on 11/22 so winter will be knocking on the door (sob! I am not ready for winter weather!).
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your cheery space!
Jeanie, I love your orange pumpkin guy on top of your china cabinet, as well as a number of other things that caught my eye. I might do a short post on our front porch, which I never shared. Truth be told, I'm thinking about putting everything away the very beginning of November. Remember, I have lots going on in November. There'll be one big announcement in November and another in early December.
ReplyDeleteVery nice fall and Halloween items. I have a few things up for the season and some Halloween items for the grand doll. I am anxiously awaiting my Christmas décor as it is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteYour decorations are absolutely gorgeous Jeanie.
ReplyDeleteJeanie, love your festive and happy decorations. Especially love The pumpkin man with the black hat. He is wonderful. Enjoy this fun time of year. Do you have many trick or treaters?
ReplyDeleteYour home is decorated so festive for Autumn. I love your mom's copper pots, they're charming. And displayed on the fireplace is a perfect place for them. Your lantern is very unique looking, love that. The doll is sweet hanging from the fireplace. Is she from another country? I like the white vase with the cotton. Jess also has an arrangement of cotton in her home. And that little pumpkin fellow is delightful. Thanks for sharing a bit of your home décor for Autumn, Jeanie. I don't have a whole lot of Halloween stuff, but when Christmas comes, it's all decked out. Can't wait.

You certainly do take the season seriously!
ReplyDeleteSo many fall delights. Wondrous.
ReplyDeleteLove it all...especially the trees! How spooky!!! Janice
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving us a peek into your Autumnal Halloween decorated home, Jeanie. Your copper pieces are perfect on your mantel. Such lovely patina suits Autumn quite nicely. And along with those lovely hydrangea blossoms they are quite perfect.
ReplyDeleteOoh I like that pumpkin man! His skinny legs remind me of a couple of pieces that I have. I like your copper accents and the trees. I did the same- decorated for fall then added some Halloween and then it can be removed.
ReplyDeleteYour house is all set up for fall and Halloween - it is lovely! However, even more than your decorations I like your pictures of Paris and the Cotswolds (I think) that you have on your wall. Are these your own photos? They're gorgeous. You have some fun decorations that I would have loved when I was still decorating for Halloween (as long as my daughter was still here). I recently gave some of my outdoor Halloween decorations to a family two houses down since they have small children who will enjoy them for a while. And this way I can also still see them!
ReplyDeleteI especially like the hydrangea and leaves in the copper containers. I like your new pillow, too -- simple, but as vibrant as fall leaves. When I went to the grocery store tonight, they already had shelves filled with Christmas items. Before Thanksgiving is one thing, but... a little respect for the witches and pumpkins and candy corn, please!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have done a lot in terms of decorating. Well done. I especially love the copper pots belonging to your mom. How wonderful you can now enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteYou always make Halloween and autumn come to life in your fabulous decorations. I love it all. You create beauty in your decorations, and I always enjoy seeing how you decorate your home for this season.
ReplyDeleteOhhh, that first shot is just beautiful! And a cute birdhouse, too.
ReplyDeleteYou make your home look cozy for sure.
:-) I´ve never heard of a Halloween-Tree! - great idea!
Love the picture of you two!
Now that you mention... I have nothing from my Mom, just a lamp from my parents. Maybe next time I´m "home" I´ll ask my Brother.
Well, I do have the next-next-next... generation of wood strawberries, though.
Funny guy there! The pillow is great, too!
Oh, one day I´ll have a filled turkey, too! (And a cat)
You did a great job, love it!! Your decorations look so pretty and festive. Maybe I'll try to make some pictures of ours and get them posted. I didn't put up alot this year. I used to go ALL OUT!!, but just cant keep up with it so much now, would rather save my time and energies for Christmas decor!! LOL
ReplyDeleteYou can have mori-soba in your house. You are very lucky. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love hearing about your decorations, and would definitely want to enjoy them for as long as possible if I had your collection.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Jeanie . . .
ReplyDeleteLove your oranges and Halloween touches . . .
And around the corner . . . SOON . . . we will see mor3 if your artistry.
Tell me please, where did this year go!
Love the pumpkin' guy:)♥All those little peeps you have.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks amazing. I love it all. Fall will be leaving us soon although we had very little of it to enjoy and things will be turning off super cool then cold! Not ready for all that but I do love the short falls we have, wishing they were as long as winter or summer. Enjoy the season.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a lot of fun at your house Jeanie, I'm thinking I should fly over because I bet you've got chocolate on offer too! Happy days!

It looks fabulous, especially the lights on the Halloween tree. And nice leaf decorations. I need to remember that for next year as they do make the house look really pretty. I got some Halloween things out, and then decided that was all that was going to be put out. OH well, Christmas will be here sooner than we know. (At least as far as my decorating the house gets this fall-smile). Happy weekend Jeanie. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI love the way you decorate for every season and holiday.
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanie, just back from a short power outage. Only 23 hours this time. All your fall and Halloweenie looks so pretty. Have a happy weekend..xxoJudy

Your decorations are wonderful Jeanie. I can see why you keep those Paris beauties hanging! Those copper pots are amazing. I imagine you have a lot of fun utilizing them when the seasons change. That foliage shot is a stunner!
ReplyDeleteYou're very talented Jeanie, your decorations are really pretty.
ReplyDeleteJeanie, your home is perfectly decorated for autumn and Halloween. I love the feather tree with the mini Radko ornaments. It is wonderful to see how you incorporate your mom’s collection into your decor, sweet memories I am sure. I always enjoy seeing how you decorate for the seasons.
ReplyDeleteWonderful fall decorations!
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful decorations! Wow, a cute black cat face :)
ReplyDeleteSo perfectly Halloweeny...love it all! Thanks for so many wonderful inspirations.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous autumn in your area and inside your home! Our autumn disappeared early after two very early touches of frost and snowfalls!
ReplyDeleteLove the decorations. How fun to see. Yes, we have to use a seat protector too. Having your mom's copper things is so special and just lovely for fall decorations. Like the decorated chandelier too. I think I need to do something with mine this year maybe for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
ReplyDeleteOh!! What an amazing decorations!
ReplyDeleteAnd these colorful leaves! Autumn is amazing, it's so colorful and nice.
I love the pumpkin picture. Have you made it? It's a piece of art!
