Thanks to Tamara for hosting Paris in July.
I also want to add a link to a New York Times article on Notre Dame. It's just fascinating and you can see it HERE.
You can see more Paris and French-related themes here at her blog, featuring books, film, travel, food and more!

Wow! Those remind me of the classic photographs of Paris in the first half of the 20th century. There’s so much design in every little detail of almost all pre-War Paris buildings. (The sixties were a train wreck for architecture!)
ReplyDeletethanks for the beautiful images.... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
These photos are simply gorgeous. I love the black and white, I feel you can see so many details better sometimes, in a black and white photo.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures from my favorite city in the world. I especially like the view of Notre Dame and the courtyard which reminds me of my stay. Thank you for sharing your talent.
ReplyDeleteI took a class on developing film back when camera had film and came to love black and white photography. Your photos are wonderful. My favorite is the Marais Rooftops. A classic for those of us who love lines, contrast and balance in our black and whites.
ReplyDeleteBlack and white is dramatic! These are beautiful Jeanie! Stay cool!
ReplyDeleteBreathtakingly beautiful! The stairwell especially jumped out at me!
ReplyDeleteTFS!
Paris looks good in all colours! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI am sure that I am a Philistine but black-and-white photography leaves me cold. There is no doubt a whole degree of artistic interpretation that escapes my untutored eye, but a yellow banana, red cherries and a strawberry shake all look better in colour. And as for birds....well, let me not even go there!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful Jeanie! I love the wine cellar and that stairwell.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteBut I can't help feeling the black & white has robbed me. What do they look like in color? :)
Black & white is wonderful and many times it's so overlooked, thanks Jeanie for these conversions.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful photos. Nothing like black and white. I especially enjoy the Medici fountain.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful black and white. Very classic and unique.
ReplyDeleteI always love black & white photography! Enjoyed viewing!
ReplyDeleteThe wine cellar definitely is my favorite! But I also liked all the other ones - great images, Jeanie!
ReplyDeleteI love to change my photos into black and whites and then play with them. There is so much fun stuff to make!
Beautiful! Paris looks equally good in B & W as it does in colour :-)
ReplyDeleteAmazing photos.
ReplyDeleteJeanie, I adore the black and white images. Makes me think of how Paris looked in the 20’s and 30’s!
ReplyDeleteNow there some great photos.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
These turned out stunning in black and white. Most impressive when desaturated. In fact it makes Paris look vintage. Great choice for this week's challenge.
ReplyDeleteIt´s really interesting how regular things turn into wonderful art this way! The coutyard and the Bank Window are my favorite, but they´re all beautiful and kinda seem to come from a different timeline.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are stunning. I like the details a lot. The Opera house is amazing.
ReplyDeleteStunning photos. I was sorry we didn't go inside the Opera House, but there's always the next time.
ReplyDeleteThere is something SO strikingly beautiful about black & white photos, but Paris? It's truly magnifique! One of my favorites was the courtyard!
ReplyDeleteVery dramatic and cool Jeanie, I especially like the shot of the roof tops, very effective in black and white!
ReplyDeleteJenna
these are beautiful captures. Black and white always seems like a beautiful choice for Paris. I love how it captures all the little details especially the architectural ones.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Black and white add something dramatic to pictures of such scenes. I think my favourite is the courtyard, mainly because it is the simplest.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness... these are PERFECT! And making me miss it so! What a lovely idea. It's been sooo long since I've been in Paris in July. We usually have people renting in June and July and winter is the easiest time for my sweetie to get away. But you have made it easy to visit! Thanks for this! Xoxo
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful, Jeanie. Love the black and white photos. They are so striking. Lovely week to you.
ReplyDeleteA black and white Paris is always dramatic! So many beautiful details...........Happy week.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your black and white Paris pictures so much. Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteO Paris was in classy black and white when the Nouvelle Vague filmmakers appeared in the cultural scene. Your photos remind me of the films of these New Wave directors, "Breathless", "400 Blows", and yes, my fave, Agnes Varda's "Cleo from 5 to 7". :)
ReplyDeleteBlack and white always makes you look at the surroundings more. Great photos! Janice
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images.. lucky to be able to capture Norte Dame before the fire.
ReplyDeleteParis is pretty in black and white, Jeanie. I especially like the courtyard, the café, and the canal. : )

Jeanie, I guess because we mostly see in color, it is easy to forget how black and white can be so striking. Just beautiful..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteWow. These are magnificent. Now you have inspired me to see what happens when I adjust my shots.

ReplyDeleteGah! These photos are so beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteJeanie, I love these black and white photos. Lately I'm thinking color can be distracting, though I love it so. Here I really SEE the subjects, the forms, the values, the lines...wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing Paris in Black and White. Yes, I will remember the Notre Dame in just that way too. Oh do I love Paris!! What wonderful pictures. I love the Courtyard one alot!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful black and whites!
ReplyDeleteWhen i first visited paris I was 3yrs old. Many photos of that trip were in B&W. Its quite emotional visiting these now... like my 3yo memory was awakened.
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking us on a Parissiene tour, Jeanie! Love the b/w photography!!! I'll take the carved angels and the lamp... Stark contrast to the city rooftops of the next photo, I think it was. Amazing shots!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoying the Paris tour,
Barb :)
WOW.... wow... each photo, every one, SIMPLY STUNNING, Jeanie! This was a special treat... thank you so much for sharing! ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteBrilliant set of photographs.
