From Paris, a look at the Seine at night. To be honest, I don't think the boat is very good. And I'm not sure how to make it right -- the photo I took it from is pretty vague there. But I was pretty happy with the water. (And nice not to have green in it!)
I have to say, painting in greens isn't my favorite thing. I just have a very hard time mixing just the right ones. And yet I seem to keep doing things that have it!
Another from France, the rental boats at Jardin du Luxembourg. Here's another where I liked part of it and part not so much. That area under the table didn't turn out too well and I'm not thrilled with the column on the right-hand side. But I rather like the boats!
This is an English Cotswold cottage from sketch...
...to the finished piece. I was relatively pleased with this one.
And I may have shown this before but I liked it enough I had to show it again! My cardinal!
Finally a few daffs. I was OK with this till I blobbed up the right side! C'est la vie!
All that painting requires a break!

You have been busy painting! I love the Cotswold Cottage painting too. It's great that you photograph your paintings so you can assess them and figure out what works and what doesn't. I've seen some ladies do a similar things with fashion.

I am starting to write down my fave colors..over the past few yrs..following more artists.I succumb to temptation and buy a tube they like:)
I love Green Apatahite..Perylene Green..and my latest fave is Cascade Green..it's not really a greaan for leaves etc..but it's a gogeous green that changes colors.
I like Gold green for well..gold green;) And P Wang love Jadeite so that might be my next.
Peter Shiller uses blues and yellows adding sepia for mre olive:)
Indersea green is neat too.

Your paintings are wonderful! How you do it with watercolor amazes me. It's a medium I gave up a long time ago. Your River Seine is perfect except for the boat but I'm not sure anyone would have noticed its flaw shape at the front if you hadn't pointed it out.

I do love that cardinal. Have you ever tried adding a catchlight, as a way of showing his eye? I was trying to figure out why he felt a little unfinished to me, and I think that's it. I can't remember how you've done other birds -- you may have eliminated it here on purpose.
