I've been looking for a good carry-on bag for our upcoming trip. One small enough or "flexible" enough to put under the seat and big enough to pack full if needed. If it could fold up into itself and pack into my suitcase, all the better! I think I've found it. (This is not a sponsored post. I get no remuneration for mentioning this but I will say I found it at Amazon.)
I was googling polka-dot bags and this turned up. When fully opened it is enormous! But it's that soft parachute-type cloth that is strong and light. The pocket is about six or so inches squarish. When fully opened, it stretches almost the width of a twin bed.
I haven't tried stuffing it with everything I own yet, or walking with it attached to my suitcase handle but I will. Even if it doesn't work for this, it will be a good thing to have for weekends! Oh, and it was $20 (and I ordered other things so I had free shipping.)

Beautiful and practical! Excellent purchase! Enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! If you are talking about putting it under the seat in an airplane, that fabric might be slippery on the floor. You might consider getting a clip hook (like people use on baby strollers and wheelchairs to anchor this carry-on to something on the seat so it doesn't end up under the feet of the person behind you. I have one on my purse I use for that purpose on bus trips and it also comes in handy for hooking purchases in plastic bags to my purse when we're shopping.
ReplyDeleteCute with a capital C!
ReplyDeleteAnd it will stand out as yours - good!
Let me know if you need a (pub TV promo) carabiner to attach it to your suitcase (LOL.)

That's colourful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! ideal for a trip! Isn't it exciting, planning?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great find . . .
ReplyDeleteGood ole’ Amazon shopping!
Bet trip thoughts are popping up often . . .
Do you go with a tour or on your own?
I love bags that fold up into themselves. I use a nylon shopping bag that I keep in my purse at all times. It takes up no space at all and can carry a lot. I am forever pulling it out to carry something. This one looks a lot bigger and better for travelling.
ReplyDeleteThat does look like a good one! I like how easy it would be to put in with the luggage. Who doesn’t love polka dots!
ReplyDeleteWow~ That is a lot of bag for the money!! I love polka dots- I just think they are fun on just about anything. My favorite mini-dress back in the 70s was navy blue with white polka dots and I liked it so much I bought a red one just like it. lol
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the bag and I hope it works perfectly for you. xo Diana
This DOES look practical and lightweight, which is a necessity. I suspect you made a very good purchase, Jeanie. You'll know for sure when you return from your trip.
ReplyDeleteThe bag looks great, bright and cheerful, and useful. Keep us informed how it works when you're back from your travels! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteLike the quest for The Holy Grail, the search for the perfect carry on is a noble quest. It looks like you have chosen wisely.
ReplyDeleteI really like it, but I also love that quilt it's sitting on as well! Your trip is getting closer!!! Will you be blogging throughout it, or when you get back home?
ReplyDeleteAnd it is very cute! I know, finding the right travel "equipment" is always tricky and sometimes takes several tries. Hope it works out for you. And when do you go? You must be getting excited. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteVery you:)!!
ReplyDeleteI love polka dots - what a great purchase!
ReplyDeleteWhere is your trip leading you to?
You do so much, it´s just wonderful! :-)
Hello, they are cute travel bags. I like the polka dots and colors. Great purchase. Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteMy travelling friend has one of these, covered with cats I think.... and it's soo handy. I doubt you'll loose it - or at least - others will notice if you've left it under the seat.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to be nice :) I don't like the pattern only. The biggest 'everyday bag' I have I bought when I was in Prague. It's so big that I can easily put all my stuff inside. But it's really heavy then :D
ReplyDeleteFor now I'm using my backpack mostly, but I have to carry my laptop with me all the time.
That looks very nice and useful. I too had to buy bags before our recent trip, now we are back, the day pack and messenger bag are now good for me to take shopping. I don’t know if it has happened where you are, but our major supermarkets have ceased providing single use plastic bags for the groceries, so we need to bring bags.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute bag, Jeanie, and polka dots are just fun! I hope everything fits and that you have a fun trip.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how excited we can get over a small purchase?! LOL
ReplyDeleteJeanie, this bag will get so much use. For your upcoming trip an absolute necessity. And, just think of all you can stuff it with when going to the lake. I love these type bags. And, if you don't use as a carry on you will need to pack a bag for all those souvenirs you'll bring home :) Love the poke dots.......
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great purchase and it's very colourful.
ReplyDeleteI was in Texas a few years ago visiting my Mom and I 'may' have bought too much stuff. So I went to the thrift shop and found a great folding baggallini! It was perfect to carry on the plane and now I take it just in case on my trips! Love yours with the polka dots!
ReplyDeleteI like it!
ReplyDeleteI love polka dots! Looks like you found the ideal bag.
ReplyDeleteJeanie, what a deal and it is pretty too. A good find for you..Happy Packing..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteAnd it is very cute too! Good find!
ReplyDeleteWoah you're going to look so smart on your next trip - happy travels!
ReplyDeleteWren x
Good score on the bag, Jeanie!!! We've had a lot of different sports bags, gym bags, backpacks, suitcases, etc. over the years, but the ones that stand the test of time are those squishy ones you can cram full! Enjoy your new bag!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Barb :)
Jeanie, it looks like the perfect bag which is important when traveling and it is also very cute!
ReplyDeleteI love polka dots and this looks like a great bag! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
So cute. I love polka dots.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, that bag is awesome!!! I love the cheery print and how much it expands! And you can’t beat that price!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope it works out. It's really cute too. Please update us, and share a link, if it works. I'm always looking for better bags. I carry giant tote bags as purses (my friend Alex calls them Mom Bags) and I've broken so many straps over the years. I'd love to find one that can stand up to daily use.
