Perhaps my favorite had to be the two make-and-take teas my friend Barb and I put on.
We drew together a small group of friends, did a creative project and then had tea! You can find the original posts HERE and HERE. We made handpainted silk scarves one time (below) and twig wreaths another.
Then it was time for tea! Of course we brought out favorite vintage teacups...
...and vintage teapots, too.
And we prepared quite a feast!
Party favors are a must. One one year I did little bookmarks and Barb made individual rose and carnation bouquets.
The other tea included a little plant to take home.
Of course you have to have plenty of tasty goodies!
And we had plenty! Savory...
...and sweet!
And even some that were healthy, too!
But best of all was good company, good manners and good fun!

ReplyDeleteTea party? Count me in! Your teacups and teapots are pretty! I have several teacups that my mother-in-law gave me that were her mother's. I also have a cute one cup brown betty that was hers.

I love all the roses you used to decorated with also. I remember your scarf making posts, in fact, I was thinking just this morning how I wanted to try that technique this summer. You set a tea party fit for a princess. You really know how to serve HIGH TEA, dear Jeanie, I was particularly impressed with the savory, which is always my favorite on a tea plate/plate ensemble.

ReplyDeleteThese are nice tea times you had in the past, Jeanie. And the food looks so good, especially those chocolate mini pies, YUMMY! You know, Carnations are my second favorite flower. ReplyDeleteWhat a charming tea! ALmost too pretty to eat! I love the flowery teacup. And I wonder what those chocolatey tarts have in them. Right now I am trying to lose about 10 lb and so I'm kind of glad I don't have this in front of me, as it would certainly be just too tempting! :)

I love the dishes for tea parties like you, teacups, teapots, plates, cake pedestals, tiers, etc... and I'm not even mentioning the great food ! Of course the romantic table toppers and more. ReplyDeleteGoodness, what a fine pair of spreads. I’d have loved to be present. I can honestly say that I have never ever made my table look like yours. I have a suspicion that laying these tables was as much fun as actually sitting at them and consuming the excellent fare?
