Today is our Baby Grand's first birthday, but we got the party going early!
Our group of six grandparents, two great grandparents, one aunt, two uncles, two baby cousins, a great aunt and uncle and cousin removed or seconded (I should know this) gathered to party hearty!
Of course this was the star of the day. (And if you don't like cute baby pictures, sorry -- but I'm shameless!)
Of course we all had loads of family pictures taken...
...and Grandpa play...
... snacks...
....and cake. A cake bigger than the birthday boy!
And the toes did get a bit of frosting on them but no one minded.
It was finger-lickin' good.
Really good.
So good, in fact, that it required a very big swig of milk!
The hit gift of the day? A plastic slide. Highly recommended for a good time.
It's hard to believe that a year ago he looked like this.
And now, I'm not sure he's a Baby Grand -- he's a Grand Little Boy!
The fun has only just begun.
Woo hoo!
Keep climbing, Little Guy -- you'll have mountains to climb someday. May as well start climbing up the slide!

Happy Birthday to that beautiful Grandson of yours, Jeanie. These are wonderful and treasured pictures. My favorite was the frosting on the toes. How exciting for him to get a red slide on his special day.

ReplyDeleteHe is a sweet one for sure. Oh, look at those baby blues! Happy birthday to your little guy. They do love the slides and climbing and sometimes it is better to close our eyes at the stunts to pull climbing.
ReplyDeleteHe's adorable, Jeanie! They grow up so fast. Our youngest grandson will be 7 in two weeks; and our granddaughter, who was born in Japan, will be 15 this summer! I remember getting off the plane and seeing our son holding her; and now she'll be driving in a little over a year.

ReplyDeleteI am back from Missouri, where I spent two very sleepless days and nights. After returning, I crashed. Finally awake and ready to visit. Your baby grand has really aged, hasn't he? He is such a cutie and I know we will see many more years of him as he grows and matures. Glad to read he enjoyed his birthday gifts and loved how you ended the post with mountains to climb.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to little Grand! He's such a cutie and you two look like very proud grandparents, Jeanie.

Jeanie, somehow I missed this post. What a beautiful boy. Grands are so much fun but they grow up so fast. It seems just like yesterday that our Jake was there. Now he is almost 23 and in June will graduate from Santa Clara University with his masters degree. Enjoy the years to come..Judy

Oh my goodness, he is beautiful!! Those blue eyes! I see Rick in him! But I also see Mollie (sp?), too. He's at such a fun age. I love all the stages but I really love it when you can interact with them and their personalities start to shine through. I love the invitations you made (I assume the first pic is a party invite!). You are so talented.
ReplyDeleteHe is absolutely adorable! It looks like you had a very nice party. He has the same number of grandparents and great grandparents that I started off with He's a lucky little boy! :-)
