But I started the visit a little earlier than Rick's brothers and their wives because I had an important mission -- Lunch!
So it was with great joy that when Stacey of Poofing the Pillows picked me up at our hotel I knew I was in for a few delightful hours of Blogger Heaven!
My dining companions were three bloggers I'd "known" for a little over a year -- Stacey, Jemma (of At Home with Jemma) and Laura from Decor to Adore.
And joining us were Eilis of My Heart Lives Here and Carol of Bluesky Kitchen.

For those of you who have met your blog friends, you know what I will say. Every minute lived up to expectations. No, surpassed them. We couldn't stop talking and of course the discussion turned to blogging. The time seemed to fly by and soon, like Cinderella, I was whisked back to real life and the festivities at hand (after a stop at Home Goods, of course!).
More on the parties and gatherings to come but I just want to thank this great group of women who drove great lengths to meet me. (Dallas isn't like Lansing where you can get from the farthest suburb on either end to the other in twenty minutes -- and the traffic isn't like here, either!). It was a glorious time.
Please do skip over and check out their blogs. If you haven't visited before you may find you never want to leave!
Glad you had a fun time meeting fellow bloggers, looks like you all enjoyed yourselves. Hugs, Valere
ReplyDeleteSuch a great occasion, meeting all those new friends at once. Since I'm not a crafts person at all, their blogs aren't my cup of tea, but you must really be a group of kindred spirits. And congratulations to Rick's mother.

Jeanie, we had such a wonderful day gabbing, eating, and shopping. I'm so glad you don't hold it against me for driving us all over Dallas. :)
ReplyDeleteI too absolutely love the note cards. Did I tell you that my mother-in-law loves notes and sends them all the time? Well this time I beat her to it! I mailed her little deer card with a note of encouragement. She called today when she received it and she just went on and on about the little fawn.
Thank you so much for a very special day. Looking forward to doing it again.
Stacey

What a wonderful celebration for Rick's mom's 80th Birthday! And there's our beautiful friend, Jemma! She has a heart of gold, that one, and is very special in so many ways. How fun to meet some fellow blog sisters, Jeanie. I've only met one in person. We lived in the same town, and she owned a vintage shop in town. I'd love to meet so many more. :)

That is so awesome that you got to meet some ladies you've gotten to know through blogging! As you know, the friends I've made through blogging are so incredibly important to me and I am so happy that several of them will be at my wedding in May. Seeing other bloggers in person is just so wonderful as you get to know each other in such a special way!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun fun time you had making so many exciting real life connections. Meeting up with blog friends is like meeting an old friend and oh so special. You really outdid yourselves all getting together!

What a fun time. A 35lb cake. My goodness that is a lot of cake. Rick looks like his brothers.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to meet blogger friends. So very often I feel like I'm writing the blog in a vacuum...I have yet to meet someone face-to-face that has a blog...even in my travels. And to sit and have lunch together...wow...perfect! I will enjoy following your lunch/blogger/friends. :)
