The magnolia trees outside the library are looking splendid.
The tree was huge and it was at its peak!
And so, too, were these lovely blossoms.
...and the red bud trees!
Of course you know I have a love affair with daffodills. Naturally I was thrilled to see this!
Oh, yes I was! Look at those happy faces!
Graduation robes have arrived and on this particular day students were taking photos in their graduation finery. They were everywhere, but this spot -- by the stadium with its Sparty logo -- seemed to be a favorite.
And for those who felt a bit lazier, there was time to snuggle down by the riverside.
I loved the magnolias near Beaumont Tower.
While I was there I was fortunate to hear a selection from "The Nutcracker" on the carillon.
And of course, I couldn't stop taking photos!
Could you?
My walk ended at the MSU Museum. This greeted me at the back entrance.
And inside? Well, more on that one later! I live you with a bit more pink!
Just because I can!

After such a drab winter, it's lovely to see the blossoms. Few things are as beautiful as flowering trees. Great photos.

ReplyDeleteSo glad the weather got cooler again -- I was afraid we'd only get one day of magnolias in their full glory. They like the cool better than 80. :-)

Your magnolia tree pictures are wonderful! They are really blooming in your area. Now, is that the Spartan emblem? That caught my eye, as I am part Greek. :) And look at those Pink azaleas, so pretty!

ReplyDeleteOur Southern magnolias are so different from these. They're beautiful, too, but they don't often (read: never) appear in such profusion. They're big as dinner plates sometimes, but there's a lot to be said for such delicious pinkness.
ReplyDeleteOur redbuds and azaleas are long gone, but I just saw my first azaleas this week. The trees are evergreen, which helps to keep us cheerful through the drabber winter months.

You and me both Jeanie are loving on the magnolias and the REDBUDS!! I went out this morning about 4:30am to drive to where I work by the lakes. I got there just in time to watch the sunrise and on my way back (still very early), I was able to shoot some gorgeous crabapples in pink. LOVE YOUR PHOTOS! (especially that first one with the lantern!)

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, those trees are so beautiful! I have been trying to make a point to appreciate the beauty of the flowering trees as I've been driving around Minneapolis. I love spring - I just wish the flowering trees lasted longer! But the brief season reminds us to enjoy them while we can!

ReplyDeleteThis is the reason why I'd include the collegiate destinations while visiting the U.S. They are points of interest on their own, scenery, character buildings, and here you've captured the spring blooms in all their glory. Sure love to visit some day. :)
