A Little Bird told me that it's almost spring. There are, of course, a number of signs. Snow that doesn't stick for long, brighter and longer days, displays of Easter candy and decorations in every store.
Time to get busy!
I brought up the first batch of Easter from the basement. As I go along, I'm trying to cull through what I'll never use again to donate or share. These have all made the "keeper" pile!
The smiling bunny is one of my favorites. My mom bought him long ago and he's always the first thing I bring out each year! He just makes me smile!
I'm fond of my girlie bunny and bird in its nest, too. The bird often finds its way into a centerpiece -- it's low and we can see each other over it!
This bunny and birdhouse are also favorites. The bunny -- I don't remember where he came from; he's been around a long while. The birdhouse was from my birdhouse-building spree a few years ago. Maybe it's time to do some more!
Not much is in place but here are a few sneak peeks. This is the top of the china cabinet...
...and from another angle!
My favorite spring swag is on top of a different cabinet.
And last year's forsythia wreath from Southern Exposure is back! My next workshop there is at the end of the month and I can't wait!
Oh, I'm not done yet!
Come back later for more!
It's such a rainy and grey day that your spring display is really welcome!

I always love seeing how you decorate for each season! Your decorations are so festive and fun! That first smiling bunny is my favorite! Spring has definitely sprung here as well!
ReplyDeleteOh how I love your Spring flings and all of the goodness and joy that develops as one places them, and ponders the beauty of the season!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy my friend.
Looking forward to seeing what joys you will share with us on Thoughts Of Home On Thursday!
Jemma
It's fun to see your decorations. I used to have boxes and bags full of flowers for every season...I think we tossed most of them a few years ago. Your pix make me want to visit Michael's to find the makings of some little fresh spring nosegay.
ReplyDeleteLove your spring touches . . .
ReplyDeleteInspires me . . .
A beautiful glimpse of spring.
ReplyDeleteI remember when you made the forsythia wreath, and I think I remember the bird's nest from a previous year. But you know me -- my favorite of all is the cardinal. It's a lovely photo. Did you take it with your new camera?
ReplyDeleteHow can you not smile when a bunny is smiling at you? Also, bunnies just scream Springtime!
ReplyDeleteJeannie, you are steps ahead of me with Easter decorations. Your collections of bunnies are sweet and the florals look so pretty on the cabinet. My favorite is the forsythia wreath on the door. I love it! I would love to find one for my red door………..
ReplyDeleteHappy week………..
I don't do much decorating for spring/Easter, and you've got me wondering why. The only thing I do is hang a wreath on he front door. Spring decorations are so beautiful, and yours are no exception. I love that yellow wreath and your bunnies. Everything is so colorful and optimistic. My grands would love all of your decorations, and I do, too. Your blog is always so colorful and hopeful.
ReplyDeleteJeanie, What delightful spring decorations you have. And I believe I spotted a photo of beautiful French stained glass windows. I would have guessed St. Chappelle from the blue, but I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun to reacquaint ourselves with Spring decorations that have been tucked away. I recently brought some out too. Sweet smiling bunny and of course I love the wisteria wreath you made.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom claims that the return of the red-winged blackbirds is the first sign of spring. Forget the robins! I saw my first red-Winged blackbird last week!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful your Spring and Easter decorations are, my lovely Jeanie, thank you for sharing !
ReplyDeleteHope your week is off to a great start,
I wish you all my best for your days to come
sending love to you across the many miles
Dany
I collect bunnies, so I'd have to let yours out all the time! Your home has been transformed to spring. It's snowing hard here - I do have a bouquet of tulips Bob brought me to dream upon.
ReplyDeleteSuch HAPPY... loved seeing all this fun, Jeanie! Spring has yet to emerge here, so this was JOY to see! :) Happy Days ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteYOU are busy my friend! I too have been busy but with my teaching. I am eager however to be in the garden, to just listen, look and play. That's all. Enjoy yourself!
ReplyDeletesweet bunny:)
ReplyDeletebirds and flowers....so much to love about Spring!
I'm so glad for the big bloom:)
Really, this is my favorite time of year.
I love the warm sun on my face before
it becomes menacing, as it does so early here
in the South (when you work outdoors!)
My freckles have already popped out and I'm
in t shorts and shorts (don't hate me).
Big bunny love,
Jennifer
Thank you for not forgetting me, even when I am very seldom in my blog.
ReplyDeleteYes,during the next 2-4 weeks we expect Hannes, our third grandchild. We are looking forward to carrying him in our arms. Emma becomes 4 at the end of April and is very keen on seeing her brother.
My daughter and her family found a lovely house not far from us. We are very happy, because we were looking for a suitable house for 4 years.
They will move in May or June. In 10 years time we will move to this house, too.
At the moment our life is very exciting and we love it to become grandparents again.
I hope you are okay and happy. I admire your lovely pictures.
I think we are all waiting for the spring.
A lovely collection.
ReplyDeletePerhaps I’ll bring my own bits and pieces out. Normally I wait for Easter proper, It’s always a pleasure to remind oneself of past holidays and the things that go with them and I might as well enjoy them for a bit longer.
o, it looks like Easter will be fun at your house....
ReplyDeleteI adore your decorations. They are awesome.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking today that I can hardly believe Easter is upon us. Startling how fast the remains of winter have melted away, although of course I was away for quite a lot of it.
ReplyDeleteThat little bird at the top is so pretty - what is it?
Wonderful photo of Mrs Cardinal!
ReplyDeleteYour festive decos are like a breath of spring ...
couldn't resist ;-)
So pretty.
I used to go all out changing the house with the seasons.
Now I find I am happy with just a shelf or two.
My holiday boxes keep shrinking.
I salute you for being able to part with some of your treasures.
I still have lots left to donate.
Happy Spring Jeanie.

We haven't had much of a winter and now, an early spring. Love that beautiful bird. What is it?
