Despite the erratic weather (the sunny days seem like such a gift and Easter rocked them all!), we are technically into spring. It's time to spring up the house! Some of these critters are Easter-related, of course, but I suspect most will stay in place a bit!
My spring thing tends to go in a couple of directions.
There are the birdhouses, birds and nests and bunnies.
Most of the birdhouses I've made. Most of the nests here I've picked up along the way --
although I do love making these sweet little things, too.
Bunnies are mandatory guests. The one above I've had since I was a kid.
It was my mom's favorite, and mine, too, with its sunny yellow color and plump cheeks!
I found these two bunnies a few years ago. They look so nice with silvery things.
Silver seems to be my Easter tone this year.
Bunny Tutu was a gift from a good friend a few years ago when I had my shoulder surgery.
The nest she sits in is a gift from another friend and one of my favorite baskets
(because, really, it's more of a basket than a nest!)
The few pieces of chintzware my mom had fit the season!
I like it so much, I'm pondering starting another collection.
(I can just hear the panic in Rick's voice now!)
The nest here in the center is one I did from a Claudine Hellmuth tutorial, which I posted about earlier here.
For whatever reason, I seem to be caging things lately, like this bunny.
.
...and my Hummel madonna. Seems a little odd to put her in a cage, but she fits perfectly!
This is the little Easter Egg tree...
...along with another birdhouse and sweet ladybug figure that was a gift.
The bathroom tree is back -- this time with eggs!
Along with the eggs, there are my favorite butterflies and the obligatory bunny.
And this is my newest and favorite spring thing -- bird in a basket! What a prolific layer she is!
So don't be too shocked!
It's time for a little spring -- at long last! Bring out your happy!
Lovely! I'm enjoying your colorful turn toward spring,... around here, all we're feeling are spring breezes airing out the basement.
ReplyDeleteYou are so good a decorating your home for the different seasons and I always love seeing all the photos! Easter is such a fun time of year with the bunnies and eggs and pastels and such! I am really happy to hear that Spring has sprung in your neck of the woods, too!
ReplyDeleteJeanie,
ReplyDeleteYou and your blog are pure pleasure to visit!
Always so bubbly with lots of creative fun shared. Thank you for all the photos that inspire and delight and I am crazy about the chintz ware collection!
Happy Spring!
Fun, fun, fun. I love seeing on the bunnies, nests, and bird houses. I wonder how the caged bunny is feeling. Madonna too.
ReplyDeleteThose silver/pewter bunnies are just awesome.
Now as far as chintzware goes, I'd go for it. Love chintzware.
Goodness me, how long does it take you to unwrap and put out all these pretties? Not to mention wrapping them up gain and putting them way for another year.
ReplyDeleteI felt so down this year I didn’t even set the easter tree up. I am quite glad now - although I was sad before - because I haven’t got to wrap up the delicate blown and painted eggs. I usually manage to crack at least one every year.
What fun decorations! I think bunnies go well past Easter into early summer.
ReplyDeleteI never seem to rearrange things... here in my temporary place In Santa Barbara I don't have any decorative stuff except that I bought one Wedgewood teapot, and wrapped it up to take home to Michigan. The landlady, however, has beautiful decorations on the shelves and tables, so I'm enjoying her good taste.
ReplyDeleteOh I love your happy!!!
ReplyDeleteBird houses, nests, eggs, bunnies, silver, glitters, and chintz ware too. All so beautiful. This is one of my favorite times to decorate. Just throw in a few flowers along with the bunnies and I am a happy girl. I would love just standing in the midst of all this delight.
Your silver pair (aka "Sassykins" and "Coco Chanel") look right at home on the mantle. And I'm sure that your ladybug gal is just shocked that winter might FINALLY be over! :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the silver Peter Rabbit! You go all out for seasonal decor Jeanie--I love that! I love seeing folks' decoration. Probably because I have few seasonal decorations, and really lack of place to keep them. Christmas decor is about all I've got... LOL! And just LOVE that Easter tree and those butterflies... *swoon*... Happy SPRING Days ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteteeeheee...I love that silver rabbit with his smile; he is RUNNING OFF with a bushel of carrots! And you make the birdhouses, Jeannie? I do too! I have a few and one of them I actually put outside and I have been watching the chickadees go into the little hole with straw. And like you all, OUR EASTER WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DAY!!!!! Hugs my friend, and wishing you an enchanted April! Anita
ReplyDeleteI especially love your bathroom tree. How I wish I had the space for it.
ReplyDeleteThose two silver rabbits are my favorites. I've never seen anything quite like them.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to remember to take my camera to work today and take a photo of the boat across from where I'm working. Its name? "Killer Rabbit"!
I am a big Peter Rabbit fan and I love the silver bunnies, but I think I would linger the longest by the whimsical bunny with the chubby cheeks.

ReplyDeleteyou have a lot of fun springy thingys!
ReplyDeleteDear Jeanie, Does Rick have to polish all that lovely silver? Your decorations for spring are both elegant and whimsical. I need you as my decorator!
ReplyDeleteOh that third bunny is my fave. Whimsical and colourful. Maybe its the birdhouse that has some subliminal effects on me. ;) A delightful post, Jeanie!
ReplyDeleteYour house is beautiful. You have such an artistic eye. Love that bunny with the big cheeks and feet. It's all so festive. Do you have a lot of storage in your house?? :)
ReplyDeleteHow sweet you have your favorite bunny from your childhood, that is very special. Love all your spring vignettes and I'm in love with the silver bunnies. I'm still enoying the few things I put our for Easter.
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm late but just returned home from a week at the beach.
Hugs,
Emily
