Lizzie Cosette Welcomes Spring

Sometimes Lizzie Cosette (aka Mlle. Good and Plenty) says it all with her face.
Welcome spring!
We'll keep looking out the window till that red, red robin comes bob, bob, bobbin' along!
And then we'll invite him to lunch.

NOTE: I have finally posted more on Chopsticks and String, my book blog -- so stop by if you're interested in seeing what has (and hasn't) taken my fancy lately!

It is all in her eyes.. Such expression little Lizzie Cosette has.

Your tulips are just beautiful.. Now all you need is warm weather, yes?
I am sending you a little sunshine.

  9. That Lizzie sure is adorable -- and your tulips are beautiful. Nice to have signs of spring indoors when the ones out of doors are so hard to come by. We have been seeing robins lately, though. And the daffodils are beginning to show signs of life. Can't get here too soon for me!

  16. It's so strange - when I opened your blog and saw the tulips, I could smell their fragrance. Or some fragrance. I suppose something around here has decided to bloom and is wafting in through the windows, but it was a strange experience.

The tulips are beautiful. Likewise, Lizzie. As for that red, red, robin - another coincidence. I just had someone leave a comment on my blog who's at the University of Iowa. I mentioned to her that I attended a couple of summer workshops there when I still was in high school. What I didn't tell her was that, while I was waiting my turn to perform in the original oratory contest, I sat on the steps of the Old State Capitol and eased my nerves by singing, "When the red, red robin comes bob-bob-bobbin' along." What a memory!

  32. This birdie loving reader will discourage birdies from joining Miss Lizzie for lunch since my own very naughty doggies dragged an unwilling attendant inside to lunch this week while we were all out. Alas, no happy ending for the hapless feathered friend.

  33. I love the look on her face! I hope spring fully arrives soon. They got snow back in Minnesota last night. As much as 2' in some places! Yuck! So I am thankful for the spring weather here in Charlotte!
