What's all this about?
Could it be a river, waking up at the insistent call of those eager for spring?
What's this?
Perhaps is that first early burst of color from the forsythia.
How about this?
Could it be the bill of one of the handsome and colorful ducks along the river?
And he really seems to enjoy strutting his stuff!
What's this?
Oh! It's his lady friend!
Her etiquette on scratching in public could be improved.
And when she's thirsty, let's say she doesn't get into the most ladylike position!
But they seem rather content together, co-existing on a lovely evening.
Spring is indeed coming to my part of the world. These were taken a little over a week ago, on the night of my last French class.
Now, with amazing speed, the trees are beginning to fill in, more spring flowers are budding, soon to burst into color.
It hasn't been a moment too soon.
The devil is in the details!
What's this?
It's one person who is mighty happy to see even just an inkling of spring!
A Follow-up note: Since I wrote that bit above, we're getting a slight bit more blue sky and a wee bit less rain. More bushes, trees and flowers are coming out. Here's one of them! More next time!

Enchanting, photos Jeanie! Spring unfolding...*swoon*!! Happy Weekend to you! And many thanks for your kind thoughts on my painting/feature. :o)
Your pictures showing the blossoming of spring are beautiful. The same thing is finally happening here and I am loving it.
ah... spring! And not a moment too soon! Just love how everything "pops" all at once, as if it knows there's no time to waste. Gorgeous pictures, Jeanie. This time of year, MSU is one of the most beautiful campuses in the world.
Love your pictures! And I love Spring! Glad it has finally made it to your part of the country. :)

I'm think there are so many to see spring arrive this year. Once it comes, it is amazing how much speed everything breaks forth into blooming beauty. You look wonderful, my dear.
Your lovely smile is like a spring bloom. I liked guessing your photos.
What a pretty photo essay honoring spring. Glad the rain is departing. Don is in Missouri now and the predicted storm arrived a day early. The sandbaggers on Old Muddy can't be too happy about that. So far, the flooding is being held at bay but across the river, in TN, they are not so lucky.
i love the game you just played with us.....
happy weekend jeanie !!!
and finally, happy spring, too !!!
Beautiful photos! Spring has sprung here as well. The trees are finally starting to bud! Hooray! I could not handle much more of that dreary weather...
Love the photos. When I lived in New York, I used to eagerly await ANY signes of spring. The buds on the trees and the eventual unfurling of the leaves made my heart sing. When I visited family in Florida I was reminded of the Wizard of Oz movie, when Dorothy went from black and white to a colorful landscaps! How I love the beginning of spring! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful post and the pix !
Welcome Spring!!! Darling post by a darling gal! I so love Spring! What a celebration this post was ~ looking forward to more fun and engaging posts! Blessings ~ *
Winter held on for so long, the spring colors seem especially beautiful this year.
Beautiful spring photos, Jeanie! But the one I liked best was you with your brilliant smile! You look so much like your mom. Happy Spring!
Spring is late in coming to your neck of the woods! More precious in contrast, I am sure, to your longer winters! As usual, beautiful pictures and word!
How fun! I love the pic of you! You're too cute!!!
