SO, while Rick was playing guitars with Richard Brune, I thought I'd take a little walk. And I saw this window...
For once I found an appropriately priced antique store.
And yes, I did some damage -- not with anything in these photos, much as I would have liked.
Let me say, this store had all the qualities I like in an antique shop.
It was charming.
It was well designed with ample space between the shelves of china.
It was well lit.
It was in a charming neighborhood with great windows.
It was diverse, but mostly with home things -- dishes...
...linens...
...small bits.
And I really never wanted to leave.
(I have a drawing for "Anything Considered," a caper novel taking place in France, over on Chopsticks and String. Stop by to enter!)
Oh,,I would so love to visit that store. I could spend alot of time and $ in there. What a great discovery!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week-end!
xoxoxo
Yes, that store is definitely appealing. Great merchandise AND the space to be able to look at it? Gotta love it.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a delightful place - it would have been fun to be there with you.
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanie,
ReplyDeleteif you come to visit my attic one day you will find much more old things as you can imagine...The store owner would be jealous...:-))...*lol*....There are things of the last 57 years together with things I inherited and which are older than me.
But you must hurry because in autumn we will order a garbage container because my husband wants to part with all the stuff....I suppose I must go on holiday during these days because otherwise nothing goes into the container...."Oh, this is an old memory of....No!...not this one....I got it as a present from.....Stop, that one is an antique ....." and so on...*lol*...
We really can`t open the attic door....
Best wishes
Iris
I can only imagine how much fun it was to shop in that lovely spot Jeanie ... lovely photos and I always enjoy window snapshots, so many layers and things to discover in the reflections and all!

p.s. LOVE my card and the wonderful Alice tag you sent me ... you are so thoughtful and sweet!
oh fun, what a delicious looking store to explore! wow.
ReplyDeleteFabulous store, Jeanie. And all that brown transferware I spotted. I would be in buyer's heaven.
ReplyDeleteoh, the LINENS! you get the plates - I'll get the linens!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful find this store is!
That is exactly the kind of shop I would die in too. I would go nuts or die. I love everything I see. Where or where is this shop?
ReplyDeleteI take it back I want to stay here instead. Fab store I'm impressed you managed to tear yourself away. Love it.
ReplyDeleteMy kind of place! Only thing is I have so much at home, I try to resist bringing anymore home. Still it is fun to just look around places like this and maybe find one perfect treasure. My love of old things is because of the quality that is so hard to find and then the magic of history.
ReplyDeleteBe still my beating heart! Oh my. WE would NEVER leave this shop together! ha. I'll take a little of everything, thank you. xo
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Secret Treasures; I go there frequently when I'm in Evanston visiting family; So glad you found it!
ReplyDeleteI've left chunks of my checkbook there too!
