Happy Mother's Day to the moms, grandmas, stepmoms, step-grans and pet moms! Here are a few of my favorites.
 |
One of my earliest photo shoots with Mom. | | She'd throttle me if she knew I was posting this pic from her last Christmas! |
|
 |
| The first photo with my Grandma. She was 65 then. |
 |
Grandma at 70 -- she looks just the same. |
 |
| Grandma at 82 or so. She must have had a picture in her closet! |
 |
| The marvelous Miss Molly, ace daughter-in-law and mom! |
 |
I'm not their mom or their legal step mom, but they'll always be my boys! | | Rick's Mom, Kitty. Somehow, she raised five boys on her own! |
|
 |
| Pet Mom with Jack! |
 |
| With the best cat ever, the Marmelade Gypsy |
 |
| Lizzie and her human Mom-Cat |
 |
| And the, there are these guys. Being a step-gran is a good thing! |
I know you must have many women in your world -- moms, wives, aunts, in-laws, daughters, pet moms or best friends. Wish them a Happy Mother's Day today! (And don't forget to include yourself!)
Happy Mother's Day!

ReplyDeleteI absolutely am drawn to those black and white photos. There's so much detail, so much simplicity, so many memories. I hope your Mother's Day weekend was awesome, friend!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful Mother’s Day post Jeanie. Thank you for sharing all these treasured photos.
ReplyDeleteI love all the flashback photos. You've had some amazing women in your lives! I had a nice Mother's Day yesterday. Phil went to his mom's and did a ton of yard work for her and brought Paul with so I just had Will to manage. We were outside quite a bit so that was nice! It's still a bit chilly but was nice and sunny.
ReplyDeleteA lovely post. I hope you had a nice day.
ReplyDeleteCathy
I enjoyed this post, Jeanie.
ReplyDeleteWe had a great day Sunday. Joe is always careful to say 'step-daughter,' but when it comes to grandkids, they are grandkids. You must have been a wonderful influence in these young people's lives. I love your family.

ReplyDeleteA beautiful tribute to all the important women in your life.
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed this post. It is a beautiful tribute to all moms. Thank you .
ReplyDeleteComment from Jan Jackson: And to YOOOOOU, Sweet Jeanie!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous panoply of generations you display---all you girls and your fabulous families---those old black and whites are so familiar and I can see similarities to my own albums---your Grandma could have been my Mammaw's Fifth Sister---even to their choice of dresses and perms. They knew life differently than we, a harder, but gentler time with its pros and cons and still-to-comes that would have astonished and perhaps perplexed, perhaps made them blush.
They were LADIES---and they certainly instilled a lot of our own manners and outlooks. I hope you had a FABULOUS Mothers' Day!!
It is really nice to have so many beautiful women around you. It is a special comfort with having great women around.
ReplyDeleteAnother happy post that made me smile!! All the happy faces. :) Your Gypsy looks so much like Max! Or I guess Max looks so much like your Gypsy!
ReplyDeleteI'm catching up on posts from when I was traveling. Love this post and enjoyed seeing all the mothers!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tribute to all the incredible women in your life, from your sweet mom and grandmother to the wonderful Miss Molly! Kitty raising five boys on her own sounds absolutely superhuman, and those photos of you with Jack and the Marmalade Gypsy are just precious. It's so lovely how you celebrated every kind of mothering, including being a proud step-gran to those handsome boys. Happy Mother's Day to you too, and I hope you had a truly wonderful weekend celebrating!
