Well, I've been here before. A slow month. I could write about a lot of health things or political topics but I don't want to and you probably don't want to read them. So, it's back to revisiting the travel photo archive!
As I mentioned HERE, one of my favorite Christmas presents was from Kevin and Molly -- and Aura frame. I think there are different brands but similar -- you upload photos onto a screen in a frame about the size of a tablet and it randomly circuits through them -- as many as you put up there. (So far, I'm at about 1,100).
It has been fun going through photo folders of family and friends, and of course, travel, as I choose photos to include. So, today we continue the "Finding Old Photos" series, French edition. All pics, with very little text apart from captions.

I love seeing your travel photos! (And love to travel myself).
ReplyDelete...and thanks Jeanie for taking me along. You didn't overlook any of the details.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful thanks for the arm chair travel.
ReplyDeleteCathy
That looks like so much fun! A great idea for a post. Paris was amazing when we visited way back when.
ReplyDeleteWhat a trip(s)! You might be right bout that chapel.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are all so amazing. My favorites are the old windmill and of course that wonderful Eifel Tower. What a shot. Janice
ReplyDeleteHello Jeanie,
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful photos, happy travel memories.
Take care, have a great day and a happy week!
Oh so beautiful! That bridge, not trite but iconic, yes.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great trip post, and great for this grey day with more snow here in NH. I would love to go back to Paris, but even more so to Giverny and also Normandy and Brittany. One day...sooner rather than later hope. Thank you for taking us along and getting me out of the house, even if I never even left it. :) That's a great photo of you and Rick too. You both looks very happy. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteSo great to see these photos, Jeannie -- a bit of bright sunshine in an otherwise gloomy January! I especially like the one of the little sailboat trolley in the Luxembourg Gardens. I remember watching kids sailing boats there last year, but I didn't see the trolley! (Assuming it's still being used.)
ReplyDeleteI am a person who loves Paris, so I am delighted that you shared these photos today. I've been to Monet's gardens, but I have never been to Normandy. You took some amazing photos!
ReplyDeleteAmazing photos. I know you are having fun going through all of the. That last photo, you are so darn cute. Have a nice day today.
ReplyDeleteSainte Chapelle truly is an amazing place to visit. Your photos brought back lots of nice memories. Karen (Back Road Journal)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like that Aura picture frame has been a major success in your life -- it's nice to have a distraction these days, right? And these pictures you shared are wonderful. Saint Chappelle is gorgeous, but Mont St. Michel has a stark beauty of its own, as does that lone windmill in Normandy. I enjoyed the details from the Staircase at Musee Jacquemart Andre and the LeBon Marche Wine section. And I sure hope there's a watercolor coming based on the pots of geraniums hanging from the shutters in your friend's courtyard! Thanks for the lovely excursion today -- hope you enjoy a wonderful week to come!
ReplyDeleteThere is something quietly satisfying about letting old travel photographs speak for themselves
ReplyDeleteDear Jeanie, your photos are beautiful!!! And you have such a lovely smile! How sweet to see a cat in a cemetery! Thank you so much for sharing this amazing tour, dear friend!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely way to revisit your travels, Jeanie!
ReplyDeleteAnd what a joy to wander through these memories with you.
I loved seeing Paris again, though I’ve never been to Normandy or Giverny.
Absolutely stunning! Especially those stained glass windows! Wow!
ReplyDeleteThank you , Jeanie! These photos are so needed this day! Splendid shots, all of them! I am thinking that travel is over so these photos certainly give me a boost! LOVELY!
ReplyDeleteThis is probably a good way to induce you to go back and look at some of the pictures again. I know that most of mine get edited and filed away and are never viewed again. In times past children were lucky to inherit even a few pictures from their parents; now there are hundreds per week! We are all mildly obsessed with photography.
ReplyDeleteI love these images. Traveling vicariously through you.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I recognize a few of these (the cat in the cemetery, for example). It's fun to see the collection again -- so many memories! I think my favorite is the child on the Normandy beach -- just lovely, and so evocative.
ReplyDeleteI love traveling along with you, Jeanie! Your photos are lovely. I saw a few that would be lovely painted in watercolor.
ReplyDeleteI love all of these photos! I’ve seen many of these sites with my own eyes, too. I have not made it to St Michel - but I will some day. That sunset photo of the Eiffel Tower is STUNNING! And I agree about the beauty of that church. I also saw a concert there. I went to a light event at our basilica with a choir and orchestra this weekend and it was stunning. It made me think about how the Catholics really know how to make a stunning church!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos of your French holiday. So lovely to go back and look at old photos.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this post a lot. You saw a lot more than I did when I was in France for 2 weeks in November 1969. Brrr. Cold.
ReplyDeleteGIRL! These pictures are just so wonderful, and so lovely to share with us. Merci mille fois, mon amie!
ReplyDeleteOh how I love Paris and France. I crave those sandwiches sometimes. I crave just sitting on the boulevard sipping something delicious. I want to spend more time at Montmartre. And YES, Sainte Chappelle is the most beautiful place in the world. The sound of music playing in the chapel it is magnificent.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful shots - I travel vicariously through such images. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI adored these photographs! I've only ever visited Paris, and those were short trips--so I'm poring over these photos for inspiration!
ReplyDeleteJeanie, your travel photos of France are fabulous. I have been to Paris a couple of times, Provence, and I want to visit Normandy. Please keep sharing these photos, I love it!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos of France and Sainte Chapelle. We have been to Normandy and it was amazing to see and be there on the beach. I look forward to your other trips.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos Jeanie. I loved our visit to France and also our barge trip cruising down the canal in Burgundy. Paris is magical.
ReplyDeleteWow, what wonderful photographs and memories you shared. I enjoyed seeing them. Thanks for sharing, Jeanie.
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful photos. You have quite the eye. We have only been to Paris but love to visit other parts of France one day.
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful day or me to visit France again through your photos. glad you posted the pictures.
ReplyDeleteI so love traveling with you and Rick. Love to you both.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photos and memories, Jeanie! I've never visited Paris and would love to see it one day,
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful way to stir up old memories..You have some lovely photos there..
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed seeing these photographs.

All the best Jan
I am glad you are sharing your old photos Jeanie. You have been to amazing places and I enjoyed each and every one. Thank you for the tour!
ReplyDeleteFelt like I came along on your trip to France. Lovely photos of insteresting sites.
ReplyDeleteOh Jeanie, I enjoyed your fun photo find, I felt like I was back in all those same places. Some of my favorite places too. Loved seeing Normandy again. We took my in-laws, Jim wanted to take his dad back. He was D Day plus 1. We went to Mont Saint Michel, spent the night there. I'm going back now for another scroll, don't want to miss anything. Thanks for the tour. Hope you are feeling better too.........
ReplyDeleteFun coincidence with the cat! Wonderful journey, and oh, the poppies! Thank you for the mini-vacation on this cold day!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos. They make me long for another trip to Paris and France. Maybe this year.
ReplyDeleteThese are all fabulous! My favorite is the Eiffel tower at sunset with all the beautiful colors around it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday! oh my goodness! All your photos are stunning! Truly wonderful and moving. Thank you for sharing your lovely trip and memories. Wonderful! Have a lovely day and a wonderful rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteThank you for a beautiful look at many of the places in your travels. You and your husband are so fortunate to have seen so much. The Eiffel Tower at sunset is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThat was some picnic!:) Loved the pics, especially Lizzie's look alike.
ReplyDeleteOh Jeanie...love all your photos and it makes me think of the quote..."we will always have Paris"...isn't that the truth? Once you have been there, you never forget that beautiful city and surrounding area. How nice you were gifted the ability to gaze at your memories without having to do anything but just look and watch. Stay warm my friend...it is cold down here and I can only imagine it where you are.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had some great times there.
ReplyDeletei enjoyed all of your wonderful images from what seems to be the perfect vacation. standouts for me, the street artist, the stained glass and the picture of you and with you "traveling companion"!! looks like you are having a wonderful time!!
ReplyDeleteThe photo of the cat at the cemetary really caught my eye. That is so special that some time later you got a cat like that. It almost seems like a message from the universe or something.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I enjoyed the photos of France (never having been there), I feel compelled to remind you that the urgency of our country and democracy will require us to speak up and resist the tyranny from witin our own government. Never has that time been more important than now. Your voice in this blog will fuel others to speak their minds, especially the women! We do need all hands on deck for this project and there is no avoiding this perilous position we currently inhabit. Your opinion matters. Thank you for considering these thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing old photos, they take you back to those times. It's a shame to visit a place and not re-visit it, from time to time, by looking at the photos.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos, Jeanie! Thank you for sharing! ❤️
ReplyDeleteYou have beautiful pictures, Jeanie, and they deserve to get on your Aura. I regularly look at my old pictures, they always bring back so many memories. That poppy in Giverny could have been in my garden - I used to have some like that. Unfortunately that kind is not very good in re-seeding. France is a country I love very much and I always enjoy going there.
ReplyDeleteI love the smiles! I've never grown poppy. Though I love poopy seeds and lemons together in bakes. Hope you're doing well and staying warm.
ReplyDeleteJeanie, wonderful photographs!! I love looking at details in b/w. I tried to find cast iron to ship home while we were in Paris but didn't know where to look, nor where any brocantes/antique shops were. I love the swirls and knowing that someone hand-made them!! Maybe next time. ;) Very happy to feature this post and your January is Good post for you at SYS #485 this week.
ReplyDeleteThank you for a lovely journey,
Barb :)
