It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

It's the most wonderful time of the year. At least for me. Apart from periodic meltdowns because I'm not sure I'll get everything done. But other than that...!

I love all of it. Decorations, the music, the cookies, the parties, the gift-giving, the fun!

So, here's part of the house so far. And more to come!

Remember the wreath I wrote about in the Southern Exposure post a few days back? Here's the finished piece!

Not long ago I got my brand new hutch and I couldn't wait to decorate it for Christmas.

Let's peek inside!

It's a perfect spot for all my bottle brush trees and some of the Santa collection.

And a good way to include Mom's Christmas plate into the decor!

Having some of mom's things help keep her with me over the holiday. She really loved this Christmas Royal Doulton girl. Most times of year she's not my style -- but at Christmas, perfect!

The "white" tree isn't all white -- it has lots of pastels and a bit of red!

Once upon a time I only had one tree. Then two, then three, then more! I loved discovering these tall skinny trees.

The "white" tree is in front of a window and above -- garland with the pressed paper ornaments I make. I keep thinking I should put some of those on the Gypsy Caravan -- but that'll have to wait another year!

And some of the ornaments are among my favorites!

Then there is the desk -- not much here. A couple of Santas and my very favorite reindeer!

Atop the china cabinet, a favorite Santa in front of a photo from Ste. Chappele -- a gift from a good friend...

Silvery reindeer...

And one of last year's cage creations. Behind it, a photo from another good friend with sweet pink vintage ornaments.

An old lute of my grandfather's, a Santa and a nativity. Not a likely combo -- but it works for me!

The woodland tree is mostly snowflakes and birds with the occasional angel or two!

I have a big weak spot for snowflakes. Interestingly enough, I'm not fond of the real thing.

But on the tree -- perfection!

Remember the Greeting Angel? She's been dressed up for winter.

And beside her, a bit of light. I took the autumn branches and feathers out and added some sparkle!

You might remember the cotton boll wreath. To make it simple, I just added a bow and a little "peace.

There's a nativity scene here and there...

...and of course, "A Christmas Carol."

Meanwhile, I'll leave you with the Marshmallow gang in the kitchen!

Back for more soon! Meanwhile...

Keep the gingerbread coming!

Wow! Your red berry wreath is beautiful! And so are all your trees and decorations. You need to be featured in a Christmas magazine. You really do it up in style. LOVE it all!

I thought I had a lot of little trees, but I think you have me beat. I love what you have done so far, and of course, I truly adore the marshmallow tree and ornaments. You have a good eye and create unique and enjoyable vignettes.

Hi Jeanie, I had to laugh at your comment about periodic meltdowns. I can relate because the season zooms up so quickly and there is always so much to do. I don't decorate nearly as much as you do but I do appreciate some lovely sparkle :-) Your hutch is beautiful and I love the wreath you made. Just gorgeous. Enjoy the rest of your season. xx

I've been waiting for this post. I enjoy your decorations so much. How do you do it all? Does anyone help you? Everything is beautiful. I spotted your mother's Royal Doulton immediately. She is definitely my style. I love the balloon lady, too. My mother's friend had her and the man, too. Anyway, your house is gorgeous and I look forward the the next post of decorations. :)

You have an incredible collection of Christmas decorations! I've never seen those tall skinny trees before. You took me back with that (I think it's sheet music?) copy of Rudolph. I'm sure we had the same thing! Speaking of same, I also have one of those little marshmallow snowmen. So cute! -Jenn

I'm not big on large parties, but other than that, I'm with you on loving this time of year. I'm a lot more fond of real snow than you are though.

I love that you have so many decorations making your home so festive.

Well, if your house isn't perfection this Christmas.

I saw so many beautiful things to comment on, but each photo gave me more oohs and ahs so I'll just say "I love it all".

How amazing your home looks - and the cotton bolls are an idea I might copy. I just saw some for sale here last week, and they are so decorative. For us, they are a new idea!

Jeanie, Your home is lovely all decorated. Can I say I go from excitement to panic too. I'm having a party next week and I am not ready.
You have so many wonderful meaningful vintage bottle trees, Santa's and Nativities. I enjoyed hearing about your mother's things and your memories of varied pieces. So special and all deserves a second look. Very enjoyable.

I really enjoyed the house tour. It looks so beautiful. I need to finish my kitchen and dining room decorating (still)-hopefully this weekend. I am sick of the boxes sitting in the way. :) Have a good day. Hugs-Erika

Your home looks so festive! I love all the different trees you have and their different themes. So fun! And your holly wreath turned out beautifully!!!

I'm definitely feeling that panicky feeling about getting everything one. I have maybe 4 days without plans between now and Christmas! yikes. I love this time of year so I am trying to soak it up and enjoy it and am trying to keep my anxiety about all these is to do at bay... easier said than done, though! These 2 work trips to Chicago do not help as it always takes a lot out of me to go there! But at least they are short trips!

I always get more in the spirit when I see your house decorated, Jeanie! I have one of those little marshmallow people holding a heart - I keep him out year-round. I like that your family is part of your holiday decorations, too - sweet memories.

Jeanie, your mom's Christmas Royal Doulton girl is so pretty. I've been looking around for some of these porcelain figurines, as I love them so much. This one keeps your mom close to you. This is the second Woodland tree I've seen in blog land this year, how charming. And the cotton ball wreath is very cool. I love that BIG red bow! It really stands out against the white cotton.

It all looks great! I especially like the butterfly decorations. I have a thing for butterflies. And your wreath looks great.

I'm seriously impressed that your kitty lets you do all of that. I don't even want to think about what my cats would do with all of that!
