Shopping at the White Magnolia

You know me well enough to know that I couldn't travel without a little shopping! A number of my best finds were at Valu-World (Gorham silverplate serving bowl: $3.81; two grapevine wreaths at $1.88 each) and a home sale of a wholesaler who specialized in wrapping paper, cards, pens, rubberstamps and a few other fun objects like that. I also enjoyed Trader Joe's...

...and Anthropologie, where I found a lovely book on Paris for $10.

But for certain things, you can't beat the tiny town of Chagrin Falls. I didn't stop at its famous popcorn shop (this time)...
But I did go to my favorite place -- The White Magnolia.
How could you resist a window that looked like this?
Within, you'd find anything you'd want for anyone! Holiday items? I was inspired by this beautiful Halloween tree.
I was enchanted by this light...

...and by this mossy candelabra.

Garden things? Of course!

I liked these sweet pots.
Something for the cook in your life? Perhaps a book...
...or lovely towels.
Are you a birder? Yes, you'll find something for your favorite birder, too!

A handsome clock -- one that you can read from across the room?
Or an elegant sofa. Sigh.
You can bet that I bought the wonderful piece of Parisian paper on this rack (and a few others, along with another book on Paris).
And yes, there were some stamping and stationery supplies, too.

The displays were beautiful, elegant and simple.
...and so were these lovely white cups.

There were vignettes everywhere you looked.
And one couldn't stop without a snack.
Yes, I had one of those green pumpkins! Breakfast. That's what we'll call it!
All in all, it's a lovely shop and if you are in the Cleveland area, it may well be worth the pretty ride out to Chagrin Falls.
(And don't miss the popcorn shop!)

What a lovely array of items! That looks like a great place to shop and find things you'd not find elsewhere. I like that moss covered candelabra.

Jeanie, This shop is so full of treasures, I'd be spending hours there! But, you know i"m trying to be good and am cleaning out drawers and closets, telling myself less is more. Sigh...But, I think I could buy a cookie or two as long as I got rid of them quickly.

Ah, cannot go wrong with Trader Joes and Anthropologie! We don't have the former here but a branch of the latter did open. however, it seems to have disappeared now!
Those red yellow and green "autumn leaves" looked delicious!
Thanks for your post on my blog about the background. Yours is very nice, and I am sorry that, like me, you are a bit apprehensive about making any changes because of the technical problems is causes!

Chagrin Falls is the most wonderful name! I think I'd have been unable to leave those lovely blue and white pots behind - so pretty.

Oh what fun! I need that clock. I am sitting in my basement family room and I keep telling myself that I must go shopping for a large clock. The one you found would be perfect! I loved the blue pots, the white dishes and the tea towels. This was a great shop. Thanks for taking us along. We just missed out on the cookies.

What a fun adventure!
I love shops that know how
to put together lovely vignettes.
And of course green iced pumpkin
cookies are the perfect breakfast.
Oh I could have fun in this shop.

What a beautiful fall day and just fine for shopping. These are lovely shops and I do so want to go shopping with you. ;) We're snowed in today. 15cm expected, guess it's an indoor day for me.

A popcorn shop....what a delicious stop! (lots of fiber so no worries about calories, right?)

Your zest for life inspires me!

Oh Jeanie
I would want to buy EVERYTHING in that shop - it's all gorgeous.

But... if I could choose just one thing it would be the lovely straw hat - I need a new one and it looks perfect!

You picked up some lovely things too!
Hugs
Shane

What fun for you. I kept looking at things and thinking, "Yes, that's Jeanie. And that, too! And maybe even that!"

I'd go straight for those leaf cookies. Sugar cookies are my downfall, for sure. Well, and gingersnaps. I did just buy my first ingredients for the one Christmas cookies I have to have every year. I guess the season is creeping toward us. ;)
