Craft Camp!

It was time for our annual "Craft Camp" at the lake, when my pal Kate and I head north with boatloads of art supplies and just do art for two days! (This was about a week ago, but I'm way behind! This was the post I was trying to do at the lake when the library computer was acting weird!)

Kate was into polymer, making these amazing beads from sewing machine bobbins.

Polymer is something I've tried, like a lot, but don't seem to have the patience in which to excel! Kate, on the other hand, is a master!

I can't wait to see her finished projects!

I did tags.

Lots of tags.

I mean, lots!

I finished most of my tags for Karla's "Wizard of Oz" swap -- I'll show you those later! And a little teeny book.

But all work and no play makes Jeanie and Kate dull girls. So we did some relaxing...

And bird watching...

And Gypsy-watching. The picture of contentment.

Don't you wish you could relax like that?

(I'm getting caught up and will be visiting you soon! Thanks for coming, even when I haven't had time to stop by! Meanwhile, if you enjoy a good book, don't forget to enter my drawing on Chopsticks and String.)

Hello Jeanie! It's Elizabeth of Creative Breathing. I am charmed by your blog title Chopsticks and Strings and imagine it refers to the cute orangie in the last photo? It was lovely reading your profile. It states perfectly what I feel about my own philosophy for life. I became lost the in the post about the mystery book, but I did want to say thank you for stopping by and leaving such a kind comment. It made my day! Elizabeth

aaaawww! pretty kitty! Now tell the truth - did the Gyp plop himself down on that chair in order to make a fashion statement? He looks so good against the like-colors of the chair. Little doll. (wouldn't he just shrink to know I called him a 'doll?')
Love the crafts. Next time, holler. I'll come and take photos and LEARN from the two of you. Love the tags, love the mini book. Love the idea of a 2-day craft self-imposed craft camp.

I've worked with polymer too. Fun, but like you, not my thing. Love your tags Jeanie. Most especially like the Gypsy, all relaxed. She's a true role model.

What a great way to spend a weekend and I love the tags. I also spied dominos as well with the distress inks. The polymer sound sinteresting a finished picture would be good as well. Have fun!

So beautiful, Jeanie! BTW... I think you'd really like this site:

It's a social networking site that focuses on creativity - there's specifically a group that loves crafts of all types. The artwork is lovely. Hope to see you there!
