Cold and Lonesome!

It's cold here in Lansing this week! And I mean bone-chilling cold, and the mercury is headed down. I suppose I shouldn't complain -- our winter hasn't been all that bad compared to last year.

But Rick is in Texas at a trade show, and while I'd rather not be at a trade show, I would rather be someplace a tad warmer than here!

But apart from that, it's not all that bad a week. At my Weight Watchers meeting I hit a 14 pound loss -- not even half of my goal, but an excellent beginning. More to the point, I can pull down my jeans without unbuttoning or unzipping them. That's good motivation!

I'm almost through with the Christmas cards! Those should be done by the weekend. Then I can start working on taking down the trees. Well, a couple little ones are down, but you really can't avoid the holiday spirit here.

And I can see "bottom" on the art table! I have a couple of projects I want to get going on, so that's good motivation, too.

Now if I could just warm up!

I absolutely love this image Jeannie. This is fabulous - so creative. I love the bright, vibrant colour of the berries against the snow.

Wonderful winter photo Jeanie!

We're expecting a few inches of snow this evening and baby it's cold outside in VA too :)

Congrats on your weight loss, that's a lot, especially this time of year with all of the holiday temptations! I am still trying to unchocolate the house ;)

Woo hoo! Three cheers on the weight loss success! I got our tree down two days after Christmas. Would have done it the day after if we had been home! We had a live one and it was dry as a bone. I ended up with more needles on the floor than on the tree by the end of the process - literally inches of needles around the living room - thank goodness for the shop vac! Stay warm.

Brrrr! Yes, it's cold!! Congratulations on the weight loss, and on finding the bottom of your art table -- both are great accomplishments for January! Around here, even as I dispense with student evaluations and homework corrections, the desk is becoming overrun with tax documents... guess I know what my next project is gonna be!

Congrats on that wonderful weight loss! I envy you! It is soooo cold here too. I am normally hot all the time and keep a fan at my desk but today I was actually cold for the first time ever. And every time I open the door to let Pepper out (we don't even have to go out with her!) I freeze.

You are a true inspiration. I've got weight loss on my mind, too, and I need to be much more intentional about it. January's nearly gone and I'm barely ooching downward. Three pounds isn't much for a month!

But, it's the right direction, and I've finally identified the single factor I need to deal with: computer eating at night. When I get tired, I eat. My plan for February is to revamp my schedule, getting to bed before midnight and getting up earlier in the morning - and no snicker-snacking at night!

You really don't need to be in Texas just now. The front rolled through here this morning and we're heading down to 30-35 tonight with a cold rain and terrific wind. It's going to be cold and sunny on the weekend and then nothing but rain.

And we don't have beautiful red berries or pretty white snow! There! Don't you feel better?????

14 pounds! That's fantastic. Wish I was there already. I've lost 5.6. Ha. It's only a drop in the bucket, if you know what I mean.

It's cold here too. We're having a colder than usual winter and it's snowing right now. We're suppose to get between up to 10 inches. We'll see. Hope the power doesn't go out.

Beautiful winter photo. Good luck with your decorations.
